VOGELSBERGER JAMES E. Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2016, at Sylvan Crossings, in Fitchburg, WI. He spent his last day surrounded by his family, and he died surrounded by immense love and memories of a life well lived. He was 87 years old. Jim was the first in his family to graduate from college. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and always worked two or three jobs to provide for his wife and three children. Though his true home was Pittsburgh (Carrick), he chose to live his final years in Madison, where he could spend time with his children. Jim was consistently upbeat and loving, finding happiness in his Catholic faith, Steelers games, and his family. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dorothy Vogelsberger; by his son, Mark Vogelsberger; and daughter, Lisa West (Ken); by his seven grandchildren, Jennifer Mendoza (Antonio), Jamie Liberman, Emily Liberman (John Tillery), Haley Liberman, Noah Liberman, Benjamin West (Gina Stuessy), Hannah West; and his four great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Gabriela, Andrew, and Rebecca Mendoza. MOCZYDLOWSKI EDWARD J. Age 93, died peacefully Friday, February 12, 2016, with his family by his side, whispering in Polish “Ostancie sie z Bogiem” (you should stay with God). He was the beloved husband of the late Rose Marie and the late Adele; father of Edward (Stephenie), Charles, Kenneth (Delphine), Daniel (Donna), Thomas, Sandra (Jean-Marc) Chatellier and Valerie (William) Copeland; grandfather of Seth, Rebecca, Amy, Eric, Laurel, Adele, Mark, Dylan, Kristel, Charles and Sophia; great-grandfather of Olivia. Edward was a retired upholsterer and an extraordinary father who was loved very much by his family. McKENNA BRENDAN Age 64, passed February 9, 2016, after a long illness. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, along with 49 first cousins. He attended Central Catholic High School and received a degree from Livingston College of Rutgers University. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Short McKenna; brothers, Bernard (Annie) McKenna III, Brian McKenna (Mary Ann Mavrodis); sister, Elizabeth (Paul De Pasquale) McKenna, and Winston (Cindy) McKenna; 14 nieces and nephews; 12 grandnieces and grandnephews; and two goddaughters. He enjoyed his work as a Property Supervisor at BRIDGE Housing. Brendan was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. He spent every summer of his childhood on Catawba Island and loved sailing. Met his wife Carolyn on a sailing weekend in the Chesapeake Bay. A friend to everyone, he still had every friend he ever made and invited all of them to his annual GroundHog's Day Ball. He had a wide range of interests, talents, and knowledge, and could answer any question before Google existed. He enjoyed golf, gardening, the Giants, was a 40-year season ticket holder for the 49ers and always a Steelers fan. He came to visit San Francisco for a week in 1974 and stayed the rest of his life in the Haight. LOEBIG ANNA MAE (FLAHERTY) On Thursday, February 11, 2016, Anna Mae (Flaherty) Loebig, age 90, of Bellevue. Beloved wife of Tom Loebig; loving mother of Maryanne (Tony DeCarolis) Loebig, Kathleen (Craig) Diehl, Tom J. (Heather) Loebig, David Loebig, Joyce (Peter Stegehuis) Loebig; grandmother of Greg, Michael and Sarah DeCarolis, Eric and Ben Stegehuis, Joey and Jackson Loebig, Chris and David Diehl; great- grandmother of Alicia and Connor Diehl; sister of Robert Flaherty and the late Fran Flaherty, Tom Flaherty and Kitty Christ. Anna Mae was a member of the Assumption Church in Bellevue for 59 years. She had been active in the Women's Guild, Ladies Bowling League, Pro-Life group and as a Eucharistic Minister. She loved to swim and was able to swim three quarters of a mile to celebrate her 87th birthday, and was also a lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates fan. As a member of the OASIS writing group, she wrote personal memoir stories to share with her family. She was proud of her Irish heritage, visiting Ireland four times, and was known for her delicious Irish soda bread and homemade Irish cream. Anna Mae adored the ocean. With great determination and despite health challenges, she traveled to North Carolina and was able to dip her toes in the Atlantic Ocean in August of 2015. At Anna Mae's request, if possible, please avoid wearing dark colors and instead wear bright colors to her service. KENT FLOYD RAYMOND Age 87, of Scott Twp., died suddenly at home, on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Joan (Barley) Kent; cherished father of Linda (Robert) Shaw, Nancy (Paul) Kruper; proud and loving Pap Pap/Grandpap of Adrienne Shaw (fiancé, Scott Gallagher) and Warren Shaw; also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Floyd was a proud graduate of Duquesne University. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed for 37 years by Pennsylvania/Conrail Railroad and retired as Assistant Chief Claims Manager. Floyd was also the Number 1 Pittsburgh Steelers fan for over 60 years. Floyd was happiest when surrounded by his family. Floyd was a kind and gentle man who made friends throughout his life wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. ELLSWORTH RICHARD D. Born and raised in Blackfoot, Idaho. Richard “Dick” is survived by his wife of 62 years, Naomi Campbell Ellsworth; children, Richard K. Ellsworth (Barbara) and Cynthia J. Jonas; four grandchildren; and brother, Donald M. Ellsworth (Jeanenne). Dick earned BS and MS civil engineering degrees from the University of Utah. He was a structural engineer with Blaw-Knox Company, owner of general contracting firms Campbell-Ellsworth and Na-Rich Enterprises in Pittsburgh, PA. He was also President of Pittsburgh Terminal Properties. Dick was a licensed Professional Engineer. He was a fellow and life member of ASCE and an officer in Toastmasters, Associated Builders and Contractors, Associated General Contractors and the American Concrete Institute. WARD JIM “JAY” Jim Ward, age 84, of Economy Borough, passed away peacefully Monday, February 8, 2016, at Friendship Ridge. Born April 21, 1931, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late James W. and Evelyn A. Ward. He was a United States Air Force veteran serving on Guam during the Korean War. He was a resident of Economy Borough for over 50 years. He was retired from Mellon Bank, and was an active member of the Concord Presbyterian Church. He was an avid skeet and trap shooter at the North Borough Sportsman's Club, as well as an accomplished woodworker. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Alice Haley Ward. Also surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Joan Ward, and their daughters, Molly and Sarah; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and April Ward; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Ruth Ward; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet Haley Lotz and Paul Lotz; nephews, Robert (Amelia) Ward, Jason (Carla) Ward, and Adam Ward; as well as many great- nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. LYLE JOHN PAUL, Jr. Passed into eternal life on Thursday, February 4, 2016. Paul was born on August 11, 1923, in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of John Paul and Bennie Frey Lyle. Growing up in Birmingham, AL, he graduated from Woodlawn High School. He received a BS degree from Birmingham Southern College where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and an MS in metallurgy from the University of Wisconsin. After graduation he located in New Kensington, PA where he worked as an Alcoa metallurgist until his retirement. After a year, he married Elizabeth Lean a chemist (Koppers) of Shorewood, WI. Paul was an avid reader of history and botany. As a retiree, he volunteered at Phipps Conservatory with a special interest in bonsai and cascading chrysanthemums. He and Elizabeth enjoyed hiking in the mountains throughout the United States, but particularly the Appalachians, where they photographed many species of plants and flowers. Upon retirement, they enjoyed life at Longwood at Oakmont where they spearheaded many gardening and landscape projects. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Lean Lyle; and his sister, Pauline Lyle Campbell of Birmingham, AL. Survivors include a niece, Paula Girouard (Sam) of Lacey, WA; a brother-in-law, John Lean (Elinore) of Glendale, WI; a niece, Ann Lean of Fairfield, CA; a nephew, Wm. J. Lean of Madison, WI; a grandniece, Kristen Parkinson of Oakland, CA; and other relatives and friends. Memorials in Paul's name may be sent to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
