Beloved husband of Rosemary (Creighan) Buckovich; son of the late Nicholas and Anastasia Buckovich of Windber, PA; father of Dennis Buckovich and Rick Buckovich; grandfather of Zachary Harmison and Nicholas Buckovich. Preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. He was a dedicated worker at Westinghouse Electric in the Patent and Law Dept. of the Science and Technology Center in Churchill. Nick loved the holidays and his amazing decorations for Christmas and Halloween brought joy to many. Nick was a member and head usher at the Byzantine Catholic Church in Monroeville for 45 years. He coached "fun" with many little league baseball teams. Nick was a generous and caring friend to all. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan and attended every Pirates opening day game from 1952 to 2012. Private services were held at Restland Memorial on Friday. BIESER DEAN JAY Age 67, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away the morning of Friday, August 22, 2014. Dean was born November 28, 1946, in Sanborn, Iowa to Oscar Bieser and Gladys (Mouw) Bieser. An intelligent and confident child, Dean went on to graduate high school with honors, going on to attend Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education. There Dean met his beautiful wife, Gail Jean (Kroese) Bieser, daughter of Charles Kroese, Jr. and LaVonne (Bolks) Kroese. Dean and Gail married and gave birth to their two beloved children, son, Troy and daughter, Carrie. Dean worked tirelessly for his family, most prominently as a Property Claims Adjuster for ACE U.S.A. The family eventually moved from their midwest roots in Iowa and Minnesota to Pennsylvania where Dean and Gail built a new life for themselves and their children, eventually retiring in Mars, Pennsylvania, to be near their daughter, Carrie, her husband, Regis Evanov, and their two adored grandchildren, Sadie and Ella Evanov. Dean's lifetime love of baseball began as a young man. He would travel from Iowa to catch the nearest team, The Milwaukee Braves. He stayed with the team his entire life, championing them as they became the Atlanta Braves. Dean's knowledge of the franchise and their minor league team was unparalleled. He loved the game. He loved ballparks. And he loved pickle relish on his hot dogs. To his family, Dean was the bravest, kindest, brightest, strongest, most beautiful, most eloquent, and most selfless man in this world. He was a deeply loved and adored son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and brother-In-Law. He made good in this world and brought good things into it every day. Through his devotion to his family, his fierce heart will live on. Dean is survived by his wife, Gail Bieser; his son, Troy Bieser; his daughter, Carrie (Regis) Evanov; and grandchildren, Sadie and Ella Evanov; as well as countless extended family and friends. Sherry was born and raised in Aspinwall, and was the daughter of the late Paul and Dorothy Woods; sister of Sandra Sandy Woods of Aspinwall, and the late Gary Woods; loving aunt of Erica Fischetti, Allison (Woods) Jaques, Jessica Woods, and Matthew Woods; and great-aunt of Evan Jacques. Sherry was a graduate of Fox Chapel High School class of 1969, and 1997 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Los Angeles Valley College with Presidents Distinguished Honor Award. She was a retired airline stewardess from United Airlines. Sherry was an active member of Laguna Woods Yacht Club.
