
LENNARTSON JAMES "ROGER 81 years old, with his loving family by his side, peacefully passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014, in Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Upper St. Clair. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wilson Lennartson. They were married 56 years ago at the Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian Church. Loving father of Jennifer L. (Chuck) Greenberg and James R. (Ting) Lennartson, Jr.; proud grandfather of Jeff, Jack and Benjamin Greenberg, and Chase, Grace and Bryce Lennartson; he is survived by his brother, L. Sherwood Lennartson, Sewickley. He was preceded in death by his sister, M. Suzanne Lennartson Ball; there are also numerous cousins, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews. Born in Jamestown, New York, on June 6, 1933, to the late Elna and Anders Leo Lennartson. He graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1955. "The Swede" was also a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. In 1955, Roger began his professional career as a marketing specialist for the Westinghouse Electric Corporation and remained there until his retirement as a marketing executive from the Westinghouse Atomic Power Nuclear Division. Roger served in the Army National Guard, Tank Battalion, Ft. Knox, KY in 1957. He supported the Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian Church as a Deacon and a Sabbath School teacher. He was a member of the Rotary Club Of Upper St. Clair-Bethel Park and the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Upper St. Clair. He served as an official scoreboard operator" for the USC Varsity baseball team; sometimes making the call before the umpire did. His sweet yet stoic manner, great sense of humor and the endless commitment to his family, who were his pride and joy, are an inspiration to all who knew him. Roger will be fondly remembered by his family, grandchildren, and friends. A memorial service will follow, date and location TBD.
