FLORENCE J. MENES Age 93, of White Oak, died July 10, 2019, at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth, surrounded by her family. Born July 10, 1926, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Michalek) Stawicki and the wife of the late Eugene F. Menes. Florence was a woman of faith and was devoted to caring for her family. She worked for Winzek Catering in her early years. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church and a former Christian Mother. Florence was also active with AARP. She enjoyed reading, bingo, watching her favorite TV game shows, and listening to Polkas on the radio. Florence is survived by her children, Thomas (Sandra) Menes and Jane McDonnell; grandchildren, Cheri (Jason Belyeu) McDonnell and Elisa (Jessica Jones) McDonnell; great-granddaughter, Jasona Belyeu. GERTRUDE M. "TRUDY" (RESCH) SCURRIA Age 88, of Chapel Hill, NC, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2019. To the end, she maintained a strong will and independent spirit that marked her life. Trudy was born in Salzburg, Austria on July 18, 1930 and grew up during its occupation and eventual liberation. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Vincent James Jim Scurria; sister-in-law, Rose Hurney and husbands, Fred and Don; and sister-in-law, Yolanda Smallhoover and husband, Mark. She was a beloved mother to her five sons, James (Susan) of Wilmington, DE; Michael (Paula) of Dublin, OH; Daniel Scurria of Columbus, OH; David (Lisa) of Dublin, OH; and Mark (Amy) of Chapel Hill, NC; and a loving grandmother to Andrew, Evan, Allison, Brian, Stephen, Matthew, Catherine, Caitlin, William and Isabella as well as four great-grandchildren. She met the love of her life while Jim was stationed in Austria serving in the U.S. Army. Together, they raised five sons, though Jim gave any credit for their successes to Trudy. She graciously endured more than ten household moves through seven states and even back to Germany for a stint near the end of Jim's career. Once retired, Trudy and Jim traveled extensively, often with Yolanda and Mark. Trudy also enjoyed the challenge of solving the daily crossword puzzle and was an accomplished cook and baker. She especially took pleasure in making her homemade coffee cake and pizzelles, to the delight of her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a kind, devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. The family would like to thank the staff at Carolina Meadows for their compassionate care and the staff at UNC Hospice for the attention and comfort they gave Trudy these last few weeks. Gene drove a bus for Bigi Bus Lines and the Port Authority for over 30 years before retiring. He was a loyal, dedicated employee. He loved motorcycles and old cars. He could fix just about anything that was broken. He always was available to a friend to help out in whatever way they needed. JONARDI On Monday, July 8, 2019, age 95, formerly of Charlotte, NC, Follansbee, WV, Willock, West Mifflin, and Pleasant Hills, PA died peacefully with two of his six loving children by his side. Beloved husband of the late June L. (Krupitzer) Jonardi; loving father of Robert (Christine Vercellino) Jonardi, Richard (Hilda) Jonardi, Gary (Christine) Jonardi, Terry Jonardi, William (Sandy) Jonardi and Lynn (Kent) Leonard; also six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; brother of the late Norma Mickunas and Lidia Ludwig, and survived by sister, Valia Keller and brother, Raymond Jonardi. Enzo was the second child of Angela (Terzi) Jonardi and John Jonardi (Giovanni Giovanardi) who emigrated from Poviglio, Reggio Emilia, Italy in 1920. Enzo was a proud Army Air Force veteran of World War II, where he enlisted weeks after the attack on Pearl Harbor, served in the Pacific Theatre, and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. With 30 years of service with RCA Corp., he was a wonderfully warm, loving provider and proud father of his six children, and a devoted and caring husband to his wife June of 62 years. He will be fondly remembered and missed greatly by all of his family and friends. PATRICIA ANN (LEE) LEE Age 77, of Rosslyn Farms. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away suddenly on July 9, 2019. Those that knew and loved Patricia enjoyed her sense of humor, love for sports, and brilliant personality. Patty was always reading, listening to the radio or ready with a sarcastic, yet witty comment. She grew up in Crafton, attending St. Phillips grade school and graduating from Crafton High School in 1959. She attended both Syracuse and Duquesne and enjoyed working at the Library of Congress, at Alcoa as a proofreader and finished her career at Carlynton High School. Patricia met her match, Patrick Lee, when a friend introduced the two Pat Lees at a local bowling alley. They married in 1966 and lived in Washington DC, Detroit, Rochester, and New York City before finally returning to Rosslyn Farms where they grew their family with the birth of their daughter, Rebecca in 1977. Patty was a sports fanatic for the Steelers and all Pittsburgh teams. She was a devoted friend and family member and absolutely loved planning her high school reunions with old friends, going to shows in the Cultural District with her troupe of lady friends and spending time with her daughter's family. Patricia was one of a kind. A strong-minded Irish woman with a heart of gold, she will never be forgotten. Born on September 3, 1941, beloved wife to the late Patrick Lee; amazing mother to Rebecca Lee; mother-in-law to Jimmy; cherished sister to the late Judith Haberland; aunt and sister-in-law to many; and proud grandma to Keegan James and Finnegan Foley Wells. Andy was a 1971 graduate of East Allegheny High School and a retired Brakeman/Conductor for the Union Railroad Co. He enjoyed socializing with friends as a member of the Wilkins Twp. VFW Post 5008, North Braddock Amvets Post 60, Polish Club of Braddock, Ukrainian Club of Wilmerding, Club 206 in North Braddock and the former Slovak Social Club in East Pittsburgh. For a large part of his life he enjoyed hunting and fishing and being a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He greatly loved being with his grandchildren, especially their movie dates and post-movie dining at The Gateway Grill.
