McCUTCHEON MARIE A. (DANKO) On the afternoon of Tuesday, July 21, 2015, Marie Annette McCutcheon, R.N., age 81, a longtime resident of Oakmont, PA passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving and devoted daughters, Marsha and Linda. She was born September 23, 1933, to the late parents, John Andrew Danko and Mary (Tkach) and preceded in death by her beloved husband, H. Claude McCutcheon (Oct. 2011). She was the sister of Joan Yuhas (Chuck), the late John A. Danko, Jr., Dee Fazio (Bob Tach), and Richard Danko (Susan); sister-in-law to M. Louise Bergamasco (late Joseph), late Wilbert McCutcheon (late Carol), late John McCandless; also loving aunt of over 20 nieces and nephews. Marie was a 1951 graduate of Duquesne High School, followed by a heartfelt vocation calling as a Registered Nurse graduate from Braddock General Hospital. She worked at Braddock General through 1965 upon moving to Oakmont to start a family. Allowing no gaps in her career, she joined the professional staff of Presbyterian Senior Care in Oakmont, serving as supervisor and charge nurse for over 33 years, including skilled care over varying shifts until her retirement. She held high standards in the execution of care provided, which was passed on to her primary caregiver in her last few years of need, daughter, Linda, along with Marsha. Marie had a strong will and drive, an interest to do the right things the right way. Her entire life was caring for others, whether it was the career of nursing within the community, or immediate family. She had many talents, enjoyed movies, music, vacations, good times and laughing with family and friends, but what she enjoyed most in life was being a mother. She will be greatly missed. Age 80, she was a beloved mother of Jennifer Arnold-Shehan (Daniel) of Annapolis, MD, Thomas Patrick Shehan II of Savannah, GA, Catherine Wright Shehan of Annapolis, MD, James Clayland Shehan of Wilmington, DE (Julie); and proud grandmother of Catherine Dempsey Shehan, Patrick Joseph Arnold, and Margaret Grace Shehan. Mrs. Shehan retired to Annapolis in 1999 after raising her family in Fox Chapel. She was a graduate of Towson High School (MD), Centenary Junior College (NJ) and received her bachelor's degree in English from Denison University (OH). As a young lady, she was an accomplished sportswoman in swimming and field hockey including a Junior Olympic Medal in Swimming. While raising her children, she was an avid volunteer, leader, friend, and gracious hostess in her community. In addition, she was a highly engaged member of the Fox Chapel Episcopal Church serving on its Vestry Board for many years. Pat was a longstanding member of the Fox Chapel Racquet Club, Pittsburgh Field Club, the Twentieth Century Club, and a proud Honorary Member of the Fox Chapel Navy. In her retirement, she gained great joy from her grandchildren and their accomplishments. Born on September 22, 1935, in Republic, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Nellie (Vecchio) DeLeonibus; beloved wife of the late Charles A. DiNardo, whom she married on May 6, 1961; loving mother of Lisa M. (Troy) Rivetti and Charles A. (Ela) DiNardo; cherished grandmother of David, Joshua, Anthony, Domenic and Carli Rivetti, Katie, Samantha and Luke DiNardo; sister of Loretta (Frank) Montemurro; survived by many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Basile, and Frank DeLeonibus; and two sisters, Rose Iadanza and Louise Weiss. Elizabeth loved and cherished her family and embraced her roles as both mother and grandmother. In the latter part of her life, the stories and adventures of her eight grandchildren brought her continued joy. Elizabeth had a strong faith that shaped her as a person and guided her throughout her life. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Sweden Catholic Church for over 30 years. Born in a small mining town in Republic, PA, she moved to Pittsburgh in 1958 to pursue an opportunity first as an operator and then as a supervisor at Bell Telephone Company. It was during her time in Pittsburgh, that she met her loving husband to be, Charles DiNardo.
