POWER RAYMOND L. Age 79, of Gibsonia, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2015. He was born March 4, 1936, to the late Leo and Mary Anne (Schmidt) Power. Devoted husband of Lillian (McGurgan) for 56 years; loving and beloved father of Mary Ann Muska (Gary), Donna L. Power, Mark R. Power (Mark T. Phillis) and Allison P. Bajuszik (James). Survived also by six grandchildren, Kevin (Whitney) Muska, Scott Muska, Ryan Muska, Holly Muska, Jason Bajuszik and Adam Bajuszik; and one great-grandchild, Adeline Muska. A longtime businessman in Mars, Ray purchased the former A&P Food Store, opening the Super Dollar supermarket (later IGA and Foodland, now Shop 'n Save) in December 1973. Active with Mars Kiwanis since opening his business and as past president, Ray was a stalwart supporter and champion of the Mars community in countless, unheralded ways. Aware that one can never get rich in a small town because there are too many eyes watching, Ray's life was among the richest and enriched by the love, respect, and admiration of his family, friends, other local business owners, fellow supermarket operators, and 41-plus years of customers for whom Ray always shared a friendly greeting. GRUBB GARY H. Of Sewickley, PA, passed away at age 70 from heart failure. He is survived by his wife, Atleah, married 51 years; sister, Mary Ann Ludwick (husband Howard) of Uniontown, OH; sons, Eric (wife Bethany), a pilot from Louisville, KY, G. Mark (wife Deanna), a Clinical Project Manager from Sewickley; and five teenage grandchildren, Kathryn, Megan, Robert, Claire and Emma. Gary was a long-time member of the Sewickley United Methodist Church, where he was a Certified Lay Minister and Lay Speaker, and also served on various committees. His 32-year career as a First Officer then Captain at Allegheny Airlines and USAir was marked with over 20,000 hours of flying the Convair 440 and 580, F-27, DC-9, MD-80, B-727, B-737, B-757 and B-767 aircraft types from the Washington, D.C. and Pittsburgh domiciles. Since retiring, Gary was a survivor of colon cancer. His hobbies included traveling, blue water fishing, and staying in touch with his friends and family. A Shriner and 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, he was a member of the Doric Lodge of Sewickley. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Sewickley United Methodist Church with a luncheon to follow. Owner of Gus Linder Tire Sales for over 30 years in Whitehall, PA. Gus was the third member of the Western PA Sports Hall of Fame, inducted on April 25, 1996, the same day as Art Rooney, Sr., whom he sat next to during ceremony. Honored by the Dapper Dan Hall of Fame, Tri-City Speedway Hall of Fame, Circle Track Hall of Fame, and York, PA Hall of Fame and numerous others. He won the last 150 lap PRA Modified Coupe Race at Heidelberg Race Track where he also won the only 150 lap Sprint car race. His racing career was lengthy with well over 250 wins. ROSENSTEEL DANIEL EDWARD Beloved husband of Denise Virginia Rosensteel and proud father of Edward Kenneth and Joseph Daniel Rosensteel, passed peacefully in hospice care on April 24, 2015, in the comfort of his home, after battling lung cancer. Dan was born July 22, 1953, in Pittsburgh, PA. Dan graduated from Youngstown State University where he was President of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He had an illustrious 30-plus year career in Computers and Information Technology in the Chicago and Mid-Atlantic regions. He rose through the ranks holding many regional and corporate managerial and Vice President positions while earning many prestigious awards from Zenith Data Systems and Toshiba America Information Systems. His last position at Toshiba was as Vice President of the Public Sector. Dan will be remembered for his integrity, his extreme loyalty to his family and friends, his positive outlook, his ability to make everyone feel welcome and cherished and his constant humor and wit. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Corrine Rosensteel. He is survived by his wife; two sons; sister, Corrine (Rene), her husband, Dean Dranko and their children, Rachel and Ryan Dranko. There will be a viewing at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, May 1, 2015, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Christ Church in Fairfax Station, VA immediately followed by a reception at the church and burial at 1 p.m. in Fairfax Memorial Park in Fairfax, VA. WOLFSON ROBERT “BOB” WILSON Pittsburgh - based broadcaster and radio/tv talent, Robert Wolfson, publicly known as Bob Wilson, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015. He was 81 years old. Beginning in his teens, Wolfson worked as an actor, writer, director, announcer, narrator, engineer, manager, correspondent, newscaster and news analyst. Wolfson began his career in Hollywood in the 1940s as an actor during the final years of radio dramatic shows. He also held a weekend position as the world's youngest classical music announcer. While in California, Wolfson worked at stations KPPC, KCSM and KX-RX. In 1953, Wolfson joined the United States Air Force. In the service, Wolfson spent time at WLOX in Biloxi, MS before being trained by the USAF Security Service in New Orleans to intercept and record Morse Code. Wolfson was sent to North Africa, and while stationed in Libya in 1954, Wolfson transferred to the Armed Forces Radio Station as Chief Announcer/Program Director. He was instrumental in the installation of the first television station in Africa and was the first person to be televised on the African continent when he anchored the Six PM News as News Director of AJG-TV. Wolfson later toured Africa and Europe as a performer and stage manager of an Air Force entertainment group, and was eventually assigned to the Strategic Air Command near Omaha, Nebraska where he directed the SAC Headquarters Little Theatre. Wolfson met his future wife while stationed at SAC in Omaha. After taking his military discharge in Omaha, he married and started a family. Wolfson was the proud parent of eight children, Tim Wolfson, Teri Fedorka, Traci Wolfson, Tami McQuaid, Tara Craig, Tedi Coco, Laura King and Tom Wolfson. Wolfson is survived by 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; and his sister, Karen Wagner, who resides in Hillsboro, California. While working at KOIL-AM in Omaha, Wolfson helped create and pioneer the concept of “Top 40” pop music radio. Over a period of 12 years at KOIL, Wolfson worked as Program Director, News Director, Public Affairs Director and Creative Director in addition to being a popular on-air personality. In 1967, Wolfson began working for ABC Radio as an on-air personality at KQV-AM in Pittsburgh. Wolfson later served as Production Manager at KQV while also using his talents as a freelance voice-over announcer. Wolfson was soon a spokesman for Alcoa, Westinghouse, United States Steel, Gulf Oil, Rubbermaid, Pittsburgh Paints and H.J. Heinz Foods, among many others. After helping to start the KQV-affiliated “album rock” station WDVE-FM, Wolfson moved to Heftel Broadcasting's 13Q (WKTQ-FM) where he worked as Creative Director. In 1976, Wolfson opened shop as “Bob Wilson Productions”. Over the years, Wolfson recorded over 20,000 commercials and audio-visual presentations. Wolfson's career included stints at the popular stations K98 (KHFI-FM) in Austin, Texas and KJZY in Dallas in the late 1980s and WKBR (K-Bear) in Pittsburgh in the early 1990s. Throughout his career in Pittsburgh, Wolfson was active as a member and officer of the local chapter of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). Friends and family will be invited to a private memorial celebration to be conducted later this Spring. DALEY Dr. ROBERT P. Age 70, of Claysville/Buffalo Township, died April 26, 2015, at Donnell House, Washington, PA. Dr. Daley was a professor at the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Computer Science, for the last 40 years. He received his undergraduate degree and then Ph.D. degree in mathematics in 1971 from Carnegie-Mellon University. He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago from 1971 to 1975, and has been a member of the faculty in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Pittsburgh since 1975. He has been a Senior Fellow of the Center for the Philosophy of Science since 1985. He was a member of ACM, the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science, and the Association for Symbolic Logic. He was a researcher at the U.S. Bureau of Mines and since 1989 he was also a computer scientist at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Washington D.C. He was originally from Audubon, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by father, Joseph; mother, Rose; and a brother, Father Joseph A. Daley of Cody, WY. He is survived by his wife, Joan; daughter, Kirsten and her husband, Dennis Ludwig; and grandson, Alexander. Most recently he had a special interest in forest/woodland management and beekeeping and was a dedicated member and past president of the Southwest PA Woodlands Owners Association and a PA forest steward. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Claysville. Burial to follow in St. Adalbert's Cemetery.
