ROSEMARIE MAZUR Age 84, of East McKeesport, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019. She was born April 27, 1935, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Marie (Hartman) Knorr and was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. “Chick” Mazur; and her brother, Joseph Knorr. She was an active member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport, the Hilltop Pensioners and North Versailles Seniors. She enjoyed card club and bingo. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Mary) Mazur of Plum and Thomas Mazur of Port Vue; her grandchildren, Anna, Allison, Noah, and Emma Mazur; also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the FORGIE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport. ESTHER BURIK We are celebrating the life of Esther Burik, who was called to the Lord's open arms on December 14, 2019, at the age of 104. She married the love of her life, Joe Burik, who predeceased her in 1998. They were married for 59 years. She is survived by her beloved, sons Bob (Florence), Bill (Ellen), and Joseph “Bud” (Sharon); five grandchildren and nine-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jerry, Harry and Adolph Kovolchuk; and sister, Donny Temcio. Esther loved fishing and deer hunting with her “Joey” and the boys. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Joseph Schultz, Jr. and Veronica (Szpila) Schultz of O'Hara Township; and a brother, David Alan Schultz of Natrona Heights. Survivors include a brother, John Joseph (Laraine) Schultz III; and two sisters, Gail Ann (Greg) Atwood and Sandra Lee (Christopher) Bobak. He also leaves behind a special life companion, Sherri Detman. He will be missed by family and friends. Beloved husband of Debbie (Kinavey); dear father of Jennifer Addleman and Jill (Eric) Ives; loving grandfather of Justin and Tyler Ives; brother of Nancy (Jim) Baker; brother-in-law of Mark Kinavey; also survived by loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Thelma Addleman. Charlie was a retired chemistry teacher at Sto-Rox School District for 35 years. He was a former councilman in Green Tree Boro for 16 years. Charlie lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He loved golfing, the Steelers, and was a Pitt fanatic. He enjoyed spending time with friends, traveling, and his dog Bonnie, but his greatest passion was his family, which he cherished and took great delight in. She was born January 30, 1923, in Pittsburgh, the last surviving of eight children of the late Charles J. and Agnes K. (Kokalj) Subic. She is survived by her children, Donna (Jim) Bennett of Houston, TX, and Beth (Chuck) Tarantini of Monroeville; her grandchildren, Meghann (Justin) Sowko, Alex McSorley, and Christina Tarantini (fiancé Joe Bellissimo); her great-grandchildren, Taylor and Camden Sowko. Elizabeth was an inspiring woman known for her beautiful soul. Her positive outlook on life touched the lives of all who knew her. ROBERT JAMES GORSIN Robert J. Gorsin, of Hazelwood, formerly of South Park, passed into the arms of the Lord on December 15, 2019, age 74. Beloved husband of the late Verna M. (Bane) Gorsin; father of Dawnmarie Smith and Paul (Kellie) Yeso; grandfather of Natasha and Paul T. Yeso, and Airiana Mae Plata; son of the late Tony and Mildred (Ashcraft) Gorsin; brother of Nancy (Thomas) Pigford and the late William (the late Rosalie) Gorsin; uncle of Lee and Joanne Pigford, Kristine (Ron) Gill, Kevin Gorsin, and the late Marci Pigford. Also survived by many great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. After proudly serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War, Robert remained a member of the Army National Guard for 15 years. EDWARD N. COCHRANE Age 86, proud resident of Glenshaw, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2019. Beloved husband for 64 years of Betty (Grace); loving father of Margie (Don) Rihn and Patty (Roger) Depew; proud grandfather of David Rihn, Kim (Mike) Fitch, Amber Depew and Tyler Depew; and great-grandfather of Parker, Addison and Case Fitch. Ed was the only child of the late Nelson and Helen Cochrane. He was a proud alumni of Shaler High School class of 1951 and Grove City College class of 1955. Ed was a passionate lifelong educator who loved his students and fellow colleagues. He began his teaching career in Grove City School District. He was a fixture in the Shaler Area School District for 33 years and finished his career as Principal of Shaler Area High School in 1993. No matter where he went “Mr. Cochrane” would be recognized by former students. He loved those interactions! Ed was a longtime member of Kiwanis, and served on the Civil Service Commission of Shaler Township. He was active with the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and served as past President of the Allegheny County Chapter. Ed was an elder and longtime member of Memorial Park Church. Although he will always be remembered for his service to his community, his greatest joys were traveling with Betty, times spent fishing, and being a loving, supportive and fun “Dad” and “Grandpap”. Wife of 57 years of the late Andy Lagnese, Sr. Carol was the loving mother of John (Becky), Andrew, Jr. (Kelly Jo), and Auggie (Renee); loving Baba of Dan, Nick, Ryan, Alea, Colton, Aubree, Carissa, Gionni, and Angelina; sister of the late Chuck Raymond. She also leaves behind loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Carol worked at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Physics and Astronomy for 19 years. She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church where she was an Extraordinary Minister, a member of the church Committee of Caring, former member of Ladies' Guild, and Young at Heart. She worked passionately for years at the bakery in Great Valley Foodland in North Versailles and various Scozio's Bakery locations, where she formed a special bond with many customers. AUDREY C. (KOHLER) CANCILLA Age 94, of Castle Shannon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2019. Wife of the late Anthony J. Cancilla; cherished mother of Nancy (Dan) Smith, Karen Cancilla and Bill (the late Peg) Cancilla; proud Nana of Carrie, Bill, Jason, Justin and step-Grandma of Ronnie, Karrie and Jason; great-Nana of Lily, Sydney, Nathan, Madison, Landon, Caden and Skylar, step-great-Grandma of Chayce, Olivia and Blake. Audrey, an avid gardener, was a woman who always realized that home and family came first. She acted as a foster parent with infant babies until their adoption. She later worked in the Kane Regional Hospital system for over 10 years as a nurses aid. Her family will always remember her as the Angel from Heaven, it was as though she had a direct line to God. Her kindness and generosity will be remembered.
