BEVERLY ANN (NELSEN) JUDGE On Monday, August 26, 2019, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away at the age of 79 after a long battle with dementia. Beverly was born on November 30, 1939 in New York, NY to Louise and Gunnar Nelsen. On June 18, 1960 she married Newell Charles Judge in Scranton, PA. Together they raised four children, Louise, Newell, Jr. (Chuck), Nelsen and Mary. Beverly worked as an account manager for the Make a Wish Foundation in Pittsburgh for many years and worked for the Pittsburgh Leadership Foundation as well. Beverly enjoyed singing in the church choir and spending time with family and friends, especially her best friend, Nancy Zimmerman. She was best known for her smile, kind and compassionate spirit and most notably, her sass. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Gunnar Nelsen; her son, Newell Judge, Jr. (Chuck); and grandson, Michael Tyler Lukan. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Newell Charles Judge; her daughters, Louise Lukan (Michael Lukan) and Mary Galiotos (Dino Galiotos); her son, Nelsen Judge; and her grandchildren, Newell Charles (Charlie) Judge, III (Juan Cervantes), Ashley Lukan Kirley, Katarina and James Galiotos. FRANCIS J. CARICATO Age 77 of Valencia, formerly of Glenshaw passed away suddenly in his home on Monday, August 26, 2019. Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce of 55 years and was a devoted caregiver during her long battle with cancer. He is survived by his children Lori (Michael) Hinson, Joseph (Tracy) Caricato, and Brian (Joanne) Caricato. Proud grandfather of Ashley (David) Dobrodziej, Alyssa (Eric) van Schaik, Abigail Hinson, Tyler, Chase, Juliana, and Anton Caricato. Frank is also survived by his brother Anthony Caricato of Nevada.Frank was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He graduated from Central Catholic High School before earning his undergraduate degree from Duquesne University and a Masters from the University of Pittsburgh. He had a life-long passion for sports and enjoyed supporting all of his Pittsburgh teams. As a young boy, Frank pitched in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA and later pitched four years at Duquesne University. Frank was a prayerful and faithful man, serving over fifteen years with St. Vincent de Paul Society and as a lector at both St. Mary's of Glenshaw and St. Richard of Gibsonia. He also served as a volunteer of the Lamb's Supper Ministry at St. Richard which helps to feed Pittsburgh's homeless community. Frank was a dedicated employee of Westinghouse for over 40 years. After retirement, Frank enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as improving his handicap on the golf course. Throughout his life, Frank loved to share his joy, laughter and optimism with those around him. HARRY P. LUCAS A long-time Braddock resident, recently a resident of The Palms in McKeesport, age 96, died on Monday, August 26, 2019. Harry has been the beloved husband of Katherine (Gortek) Lucas for 76 years. Loving father of Cathy A. (Paul) Petrus of North Huntingdon and Denny (Doreen) Lucas of FL. Treasured grandfather of Ryan and Brandon Lucas. Harry was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. Harry was a WW II Army veteran and a retired employee of USSteel's E.T. Works with over 30 years of service. He was a volunteer and coach with the Braddock-North Braddock Little League for over 50 years. For over 30 years, Harry volunteered and coached with the North Braddock "Mighty Mites" Youth Football program. And for 31 years, Harry served as an usher with Good Shepherd Church in Braddock. JOHN WESLEY WELLS Of McKinney, Texas passed away on August 26, 2019, at the age of 85. He was born on April 8, 1934 to Glen and Dorothy (Keller) Wells in McMechan, West Virginia. John married Barbara Jean Kinder on July 22, 1960 in Wellsburg, West Virginia. He graduated from Marshall University where he was a member of the football team, graduating with his Bachelor's Degree. John worked in sales for Beitler McKee Optical for 30 years, where he retired. He loved to work around the house, especially in his garden, play golf and fish. John was a member of First United Methodist Church in McKinney. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. MARK REUBEN FAIGEN Deeply loved husband of Anne (Gussin) Faigen; cherished father of Susan Lynne (deceased), Janet (Carl) and David (Gayle); grandfather of Sara (Phillip), Jacob and Russell Faigen and Arielle and Eric Schultz. A chemical engineer graduate of Penn State, he was a renowned research engineer, specializing in raw materials for the blast furnace. His expertise brought him travels around the world, mostly in Europe and Asia, where he consulted on the design and planning of steel mills. Mark was also a gifted musician who played the French Horn in the JCC orchestra, the Edgewood Symphony, the Wilkinsburg Symphony and, during the summer at the Kennerdell Music Festival. He was a Blue Band Member of Penn State's band and played in Temple Sinai's band. He loved the Pittsburgh Symphony, theater, including yearly visits with his wife to Stratford, Ontario's Shakespeare Festival. He treasured travels with his wife and family. Most of all he treasured his family, who saw him as a role model for the generations to follow. He and his wife, Anne were married for 67 years, a record he was especially proud of. Cal was a man who held 3 careers during his years. He was retired from the US Air Force (28 years service), Veterans Administration and caregiver to his wife. She began learning her profession in her father's dental lab, eventually forming her own company, Ike Whiteman Ceramic Lab, in the United States. She is survived by her husband, Richard of Gibsonia; daughter, Patricia of Studio City, CA; brothers, Ulrich and Werner Reppermund of Pittsburgh; brother Horst Reppermund and sister Inge Lang of Germany and numerous nieces and nephews.
