MELANI EVA MARIE (BRUNI) On Sunday, November 4, 2018, age 97, of Patterson Township, formerly of Baldwin Borough, while residing at Cambridge Village passed away with her beloved daughter and son-in-law beside her. Born on August 4, 1921, Eva "Eve" Bruni was raised on a farm in Peters Township, graduated from high school, and married the love of her life, Alfred Melani of Broughton. She was a fantastic cook and her stuffed shells and apple strudel drew raves from all. Her home in Baldwin was her pride and joy and she took care of most of the landscaping herself. Until the age of 90, she was still trimming her yews and blue spruce trees. She was a member of Nativity Catholic Church and attended services every week. Eve was preceded in death by her parents, Pietro and Guglielma Bruni; her sister, Victoria Rabuzzi; and her brothers, Raymond Bruni and Sirio Bruni. Her husband, Al passed away unexpectedly in 1990 and she knew that she needed to learn how to drive. With the help of her sister-in-law, she did well and was often seen in her Chrysler LeBaron convertible. Eve is survived by her daughter, Nancy Mahosky; her son-in-law, Henry "Hank" Mahosky, Jr.; her sister-in-law, Angela Bruni; and her nieces and nephews, Dianne Crummey and Rich DeLand, Daniel (Kathy) Rabuzzi, David (Wenche) Rabuzzi, Peter Lee (Pat) Melani, Harry Victor Melani, and Pietra Bruni. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., at the GRIFFITH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5636 Brownsville Road, (at 6th St.), South Park Twp. (412) 655-4600. Funeral prayer Thursday 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Nativity Church at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park. Donations may be made, if desired, to Saint Monica Catholic Academy Angel Fund, 116 Thorndale Drive, Beaver Falls. The family would like to thank the staff of Cambridge Village for the compassionate care they provided to Eve.
