PRYBOCK JOHN A. Age 81, of Penn Hills, succumbed to cancer on February 1, 2017, while being surrounded by loved ones whom he selflessly supported without fail. John was born May 26, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York to Ruby and James Przybocki and moved to Verona where he attended school and excelled in athletics. He served as a Marine and upon earning an honorable discharge worked for the U.S. Post Office as a letter carrier for 39 years. His work ethic, highlighted by him simultaneously working part-time at Oakmont Country Club (OCC), was only matched by his love and dedication as a husband, father, and grandfather. He never missed a school play or Little League game, personifying devotion to family and a limitless love. Even on the first night of his chemotherapy he mustered the strength to attend an awards banquet for his daughter. John continued to work at OCC following his retirement from the post office while spending time with family and enjoying his tomato garden. His kindness, care, and generosity have touched countless lives, served as a role model to which to aspire, and will continue to live on with his wife, Marilyn; his three children, Frank Prybock (Cheryl), Barbara Calfe (Victor), and David Prybock (Karin); as well as his seven grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. BECKER MICHAEL JOSEPH Age 84, of Allison Park, in the loving arms of his family at home. Dearest beloved husband and best friend for 60 years to adoring wife, Millie (Johnston); devoted father of Mark (Carol) of Ocean Ridge, FL, Matt (Patti) of Spraggs, PA, Michelle (Matt) Fiehrer of Hampton, PA and Martin (Robin) of San Francisco, CA. Most loving “Pap” to Michael, Madison, and Max Fiehrer, Martin Wolfgang and Maximilian Bear Becker, Matthew and Mikaila Becker and Allyssa Raling; supportive loving brother to Audrey Reis of Clearwater, FL. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Michael Andrew (1961); and his parents, Michael and Marguerite Becker of McKnight Village. Mike, a graduate of and football team member for North Catholic High School, proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War where he was trained as a Combat Engineer and Code Radio Operator. Mike worked for Alcoa's Engineering Division and various Pittsburgh structural engineering firms before retiring from Eichleay Engineering in 1998. He personally built the family's Shaler residence in 1962 where they still live today, and proudly graduated his four children from Shaler High School and Penn State University. His very active 20 years in retirement were spent touring the US and Canada on his Harley Davidson and Corvette with Millie in tow; cruising and traveling the world on marvelous vacations, wintering at their beach home in Ocean Ridge, FL; organizing North Catholic reunion events; and watching thousands of sporting events and other activities of his beloved superstar grandkids. Mike always believed he was blessed with a special life. A consummate family man and “nicest guy ever,” with a joyful spirit, great sense of humor and ability to befriend everyone he met, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. ALEXANDER JANE ELLEN Age 57, of 36th St., Pittsburgh, PA died at Magee- Womens Hospital-UPMC, Pittsburgh, PA the afternoon of Wednesday, February 1, 2017. She was born June 29, 1959, in St. Mary's, PA a daughter of the late Joseph R. and Mary Conway Alexander. Jane graduated from Cameron County High School, Indiana University of Pennsylvania (BS Ed.) and was a Ph.D. candidate in Psychiatric Epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh. She held a wide variety of research, counseling, education, and clinical positions including research subject advocate within the University of Pittsburgh and affiliated hospitals. Most recently she was a regulatory compliance officer at UPMC working with clinicians and legal experts to ensure compliance with federal law. Jane is survived by her brother, John (Carol) Alexander, Redwood City, CA; two nephews, Steven Barrett, Rochester, NY and Tim Barrett, Lima, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph R. and Mary Conway Alexander, Jr.; and a sister, Lori Barrett. There will be No Visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held at the First United Methodist Church, 306 S. Spruce St., Emporium, PA on Monday, February 6, 2017, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Born on October 30, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Bernice and Joseph Meny. MIHALJEVIC PATRICIA ANN (PAWLOWSKI) Patricia Ann (Pawlowski) Mihaljevic, 79, of West Mifflin, died Thursday, February 2, 2017, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born August 14, 1937, in Braddock, she was the daughter of the Late Joseph A. and Ann M. (Gelumbus) Pawlowski. Mrs. Mihaljevic was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, West Mifflin, its Confraternity of Christian Mothers, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and was a former secretary for the former Duquesne Works, U.S. Steel Corporation. Beloved wife of the Late Rudolph R. "Rudy" Mihaljevic, she is survived by two sons, Ronald J. (Susan E.) Mihaljevic of McDonald and Michael (Julie L.) Mihaljevic of Lancaster; a brother, Robert Pawlowski of Munhall; three sisters, Janet Bucko of Connecticut, Judy Capra of Upper St. Clair, and Vivian Mazzaresa of West Mifflin; and six grandchildren, Brooke, Emily, Tyler, Taylor, Megan and Joshua. Born and raised in Oneonta, NY, Seth had moved to Pittsburgh to be closer to his late sister, Saralouise Reis and enjoyed many good friendships there amongst the residents and staff of Schenley Gardens. BLOCKOWICZ EDWARD HENRY Age 90, of Catonsville, MD (Charlestown Retirement Community), formerly of Rockville, MD, passed from this life on January 31, 2017, at Gilchrist Hospice Center in Columbia, MD. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Patsy) Blockowicz (Stapinsky), his wife of 63 years. Edward was born July 30, 1926, in Morgan, PA to Julia (Rakoczy) and Joseph Blockowicz. He served in the United States Army in both World War II and the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge after both enlistments. After his service, he attended Clarion State Teachers College where he also played football and then obtained his Master's in Education at the University of Pittsburgh. He and Patsy were married June 6, 1953. He taught biology at McDonald High School in McDonald, PA where he also coached football before moving to Rockville, MD to raise his family while teaching and coaching football at Woodward High School in North Bethesda, MD and for Montgomery County, MD Schools until he retired from teaching in 1988. After his retirement, Ed and Patsy enjoyed traveling with the retired teachers. They vacationed in New Smyrna Beach, FL every winter for 20 years with friends. He also enjoyed golf and worked as a starter at Needwood Golf Club in Montgomery County, MD as well as a scorekeeper and referee for county softball and basketball games for many years. He loved sports and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play as well. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He and Patsy moved from Rockville, MD to Charlestown Retirement Community in 2015. Ed was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and great- grandfather. In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by daughters, JoAnn Santmyer (Garry) of Mount Airy, MD, Judith McNamara (Peter) of Ellicott City, MD; and son, Joel Blockowicz (Veronica) of Potomac, MD. Ed was known as "Dziadzi" (Judgie) to his treasured eight grandchildren, Kyle Santmyer (Allissa) of Conway, SC, James Santmyer of Mount Airy, MD and Ryan Santmyer of Myrtle Beach, SC, Lauren (McNamara) Hollinger (Aaron) of New York, NY, William McNamara of Carlsbad, CA, Joel Blockowicz, Jr. of New York, NY, Margot Blockowicz (d) and Anna Blockowicz of Potomac, MD; and two great-grandchildren Lucas Santmyer and McKinley Santmyer. Ed is also survived by his three sisters, Genevieve Chatowski of Bridgeville, PA, Celeste Stasiowski of Carnegie, PA, and Loretta Miller of Clearwater, FL; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass in celebration of Ed's life will be held at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Community on the Charlestown Campus, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228 on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive guests prior to Mass from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Inurnment with military honors will occur at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Drago; she is survived by a son, Charles (Monica) Drago of Hampton Twp.; a daughter, Jane (Jack) Shelley, of Cranberry Twp.; a brother, Anthony Scalise of West Mifflin; and six grandchildren, Brian Shelley, Jason (Amber) Shelley, Jared (Lana) Shelley, Jocelyn Fesko, Marissa Drago and Nickolas Drago; three step-grandchildren, Emma, Nell, and Wesley Weidenhamer; and three great-grandchildren, Brynn and Addison Shelley and Nolan Drago. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Scalise, Charles and Vincent Scalese. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2017, in the WILLIAM S. SKOVRANKO MEMORIAL HOME, INC., Richford and Commonwealth Avenue, Duquesne. A Blessing in the Memorial Home on Monday, February 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Name Church, Duquesne, with the Rev.
