FUHRER MARY HELEN On Saturday, March 19, 2016, at age 89, formerly of Fox Chapel and Hampton. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on November 25, 1926. Beloved daughter to Walter and Ann Morrow; and sister to the late John Morrow of Aurora, Colorado. Mary Helen was a 1948 graduate of Colorado College in Colorado Springs. After graduation, she moved to Pittsburgh for a job with the Girl Scouts of Western PA where she met her husband, Frank B. Fuhrer, Jr. while playing golf at Schenley Park Golf Course. They married in 1951, raised four children together and divorced in 1979. Mary Helen was the loving mother of daughter, Kathryn Ann Kate Fuhrer of Hampton and her children, Chas, Casey, and Corey Wagner; son, David Fuhrer of Fox Chapel and his children, Jessica, Molly, Emma and David; son, Frank Fuhrer III of Fox Chapel and his children, Frankie, Jas and Garrett; daughter, Beth Wrigley and her husband, Mark Wrigley of Wexford and their children, Sarah, Jacob, Paige, Christian, Hannah, Abby, Caroline and Ellie. Mary Helen was a great athlete and a longtime member of the Pittsburgh Field Club where she had a great love for golf, paddle tennis and tennis. Her golf highlights included winning the club Championship at the Field Club and Oakmont Country Club three times each. For much of her life she was actively involved in volunteer work for various organizations such as the Republican Party, Meals on Wheels, the Girl Scouts, The Salvation Army, and the Western PA Golf Association. She had a hearty, contagious laugh to go along with her fun personality. Most importantly, she was a very humble, generous and unselfish person who placed the needs of others before herself. Mary Helen was a wonderful mother and grandmother Gran who loved being with and caring for her family. Friends will be received on Monday, March 28, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at JOHN A. Funeral Tuesday, March 29, 2016, Mass of Christian Burial St. Scholastica Church, Aspinwall, 10:00 a.m. Interment private.
