DONALD N. DOYLE Age 87, surrounded by family, passed away on August 25, 2020. Born on October 3, 1932, he was preceded in death by his parents, Regis and Helen Doyle and sister, Margaret (Doyle) O'Neil. Beloved husband to the late Jeanne Francis (Corbett) Doyle; father of Donna (Toby) Welker, Lori (Harry) Zinsser, Gary (Megan) Doyle, Donald (Josie) Doyle, Doug (Mary) Doyle; grandfather of Hannah, Heidi, Abbey, Rory, Cody, Mary Claire, Patrick, Maggie, Kate, Bridget, Deirdre, Casey, Nolan, Troy, Norah, Ryan and Riley; great-grandfather to Leah, Mario, Dawson, Ledger, Haven and Olivia. Don grew up in Oakland and attended St. Regis grade school, formerly Cathedral Chapel #6. During those years, Don spent his time around Oakland with his cousins Bobby and Ray Wrabley and friend Ray Holleran. Whether it be running through Schenley Park and Panther Hollow or sneaking into Forbes Field the four were constant companions and lifelong friends. His education continued at Central Catholic High School, Class of 1950, eventually leading to an induction into the Central Catholic Hall of Fame. Staying with his Oakland roots, he then attended and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. During these years, Don developed a love and talent for running, which lasted as a lifelong passion, including participation in many local and national races. Always focusing on healthcare disparities, Don spent his professional career working in healthcare with a focus on expanding healthcare to the underserved. His professional tenure included executive positions held at Blue Cross, Health Services Agency, Forbes Metropolitan Hospital of Wilkinsburg, Penn Gate Development Corporation, First Health Alliance, and St. Francis Health System. In addition to a meaningful professional career, Don continued his commitment to service by being a member of the first class of Leadership Pittsburgh, Chairman of the Board at Safe and Sound (local chapter of The National Committee for the Prevention of Child Abuse), and as a Board Member for Community Care Behavioral Health. He also supported the fundraising efforts with the Arthritis Foundation and Central Catholic High School where he and Jeanne proudly chaired the annual Viking Victory Auction. Donald and Jeanne were parishioners of St. Bartholomew Church for over 50 years serving in a variety of roles within the parish. Don influenced the lives of many young men through his 25 years of coaching CYO basketball. Whether seeing him as a mass lector, volunteering, or serving on a board, his commitment to his faith was evident. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff at Arden Courts North Hills for their compassion and outstanding care for Dad during his time with them, and thank Dad's good friend Lynne Bryan for showing him great happiness during their time together. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 2-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont, PA.
