RICHARD E. SUNDERLIN II Age 57, of Pittsburgh, PA (formerly of Williamsport, PA and Largo, FL), passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was the son of Richard E. and Elsa (DiIenno) Sunderlin of Largo, FL, formerly of Williamsport, PA. He is survived by his parents; his brothers, Stephen Sunderlin of New York City and David Sunderlin of Pittsburgh, PA; and a sister, Diane Sunderlin (Susan McShane), of Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Sunderlin. He is also survived by his niece, Tiffany (Miller) Moniz (Stephen); nephew, James O'Connor (Vanessa); and two great-nieces and a great-nephew. Until recently, Richie lived independently and with assistance in Williamsport, PA, Largo, FL and Pittsburgh, PA. He was very active in Special Olympics winning many medals, especially in bowling and bocce. He was a wonderful dance partner and would often be the last one off of the dance floor. JAMES F. GILLESPIE Age 88, of Plum, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2020. He was born June 28, 1932, to Thomas and Gertrude Gillespie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Albert and grandson, Aaron Rieck. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ida; their children, Eva Marie (David) Rieck, James, Jr., and Lisa (John) Sarneso; and grandchildren, Catherine Rieck and Elizabeth and Caroline Sarneso. Jim also has a sister, Rose Marie Cook. Jim graduated from Scott High School in 1950. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked in a variety of positions at US Steel until his retirement in 1996. Jim was a member of the Pittsburgh Flying Club, serving as President for many years, and was an instrument-rated pilot and flight instructor. He did not pass on an adventure, including skydiving and scuba diving. He was also a member of Holy Family Parish, Plum (formally Our Lady Of Joy Catholic Church). MARY CAROL HELEN (KREIL) ROWSICK Age 75, of Baldwin Borough, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease and Dementia. She was a kind and gentle soul. Those who knew her will always remember her warm, caring ways, her genuine smile and infectious laugh that could light up a room or make you feel at ease. Born to the late Joseph Kreil and Rosemary (Costello) Kreil on January 20, 1945, Mary Carol graduated St. Joseph High School in Mount Oliver where she met her sweetheart, Anthony Paul Rowsick, Sr. They married in 1965 and had three children, Anthony Paul, Jr. (Gloria), Jennifer Rose (Regis) Colwell and the late Michael James. They celebrated 55 years of marriage this past February. Lovingly known as “Gram” or “Nan”, she was the cherished grandmother of Garth (Alexis) Lutsko, Mallory (Jason) Vincenti, George (Meagan) Rowsick, Anthony (Lindsay) Rowsick, III, Regis Colwell, Jacob Colwell, and Julia Colwell; beloved great-grandmother of Christina, Isabella, Finneas, Amaris, Teagan, Emmanuel, and Anthony Paul, IV. Born July 9, 1928, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Stempo) Slavonic. She was the youngest of 13 children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Regis John Roth; and all of her siblings except one. She is survived by her daughter, Joann (Russell) Ladesic; her son, James (Linda) Roth; her grandchildren, Bradley Ladesic, Lauren Ladesic, Kari (James) Hosack and Richard (Erica) Roth; her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jamie Hosack; and her brother, Andrew Slavonic. JACQUELINE L. BARNOT KOLISCAK "JACKIE" With her loving family by her side, Jacqueline L. ‘Jackie' Barnot Koliscak was called home to Heaven on August 3, 2020, by the Lord to be with her beloved son, Jason Barnot Koliscak, who preceded her in death on July 17, 2016. She was the daughter of the late John and Victoria Colatta Barnot. She was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Marie Koliscak and father-in-law, Mike Koliscak and brothers-in-law, Andrew C. Stefanick, Jr. and Ron Geckle. Jackie was born Sept. 4, 1946, in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. She graduated from Bellmar High School, Class of 1964, and Douglas School of Business. She was employed by Lincoln Homes Company in Belle Vernon and First Federal Savings and Loan in Rostraver Twp. until her retirement in August 2014. Jackie was a devout Catholic and member of St. Sebastian Church in Belle Vernon. She loved baking Holiday cutout cookies and sharing them with her granddaughters. MiMi, as they lovingly called her, makes the best cookies. Her favorite childhood memories were her family vacations to Old Cape Cod. She loved traveling with her husband and friends to Hawaii, Alaska, Aruba, Grand Cayman Islands, Bermuda and Paradise Island. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Stanley M. Koliscak, and the shining stars and the loves of her life, Jason's Angels, Addison, Alexis and Lanie Koliscak and their mother, her dear daughter-in-law, Melanie Koliscak. Also left to cherish her memory are her loving sisters, Ravenna Stefanick, Vickilyn Barnot, her dear brother, John D. Barnot and her adopted sister, Suzan Hughes; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michele Geckle, Butch and Sandy Koliscak, Bernard and Rosemary Koliscak, Malcolm and Joanie Koliscak and many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Jackie was a beautiful, loving and caring person and will truly be missed by everyone who knew her and loved her. THOMAS "TOM" J. RUMCIK Passed away from COPD-related health issues on August 3, 2020, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 26, 1940, to the late John and Helen (Urban) Rumcik. He leaves behind his loving wife of over 50 years, Clara (Augustynowicz). He was the loving and caring father of two sons, Thomas “Tommy” (deceased 2006) and John (Kristin) of Virginia. He was a devoted grandfather to Lisa Marie, Kylie, and Thomas (mother Danielle) and great-grandfather to Ryker and Percy. Tom was a beloved brother to Richard (deceased 2019), William (Kathy), Robert (Linda), and Helen (George) Stoffel. He was a treasured uncle and great-uncle. He was a lifelong resident of Braddock and graduated in 1958 from Braddock High School. He attended the University of Pittsburgh and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Tom was employed for more than 40 years at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Mifflin, PA before retiring in 2008. Tom was an avid Steeler fan and was a legend in fantasy football, winning the Bettis Game Ball on many occasions. In his younger years, he enjoyed bodybuilding, hunting and fishing. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral service at SCHLEIFER FUNERAL CHAPEL will be private, but a Memorial Mass for family and friends will be celebrated on Friday, August 7, 2020, at 10:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Church of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish. DONALD LEE HESS "DON" Age 88, of Masonic Village Sewickley, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020. Don is remembered for his warm smile, quick wit, and deep love of family. Don is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth (Libbie); and children, Dean (Valerie) Hess, Gregg (Wendy), Kurt (Marianne), Brad (Natalie), Laurie; and nine grandchildren, Kris, Amanda, Bethany, Nathan, Molly, Zoe, Isaac, Madeline, and Piper. Preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary McGeever; his brothers, Rodger, Thomas, and Patrick; and sister, Mary. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Catherine (Gallagher) McGeever. SHARON LYNN GREEN Of Scott Township, passed away peacefully in her home on August 4, 2020, at the age of 73. After raising two children, Sharon had a career as an accountant, received her Doctorate in Accounting at the University of Pittsburgh, was an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of Wisconsin for 5 years, and was an Associate Professor of Accounting at Duquesne University for 20 years until her retirement in 2014. Sharon is the daughter of Arline Youngdahl Green and the late Earl Green. She is survived by her mother, Arline; a sister, Linda Green; a daughter, Lisa (William) Benincosa; a son, Joseph (Heather) Bufagna; five grandchildren, Trey and Alyssa Benincosa, Antonio, Angelina and Dominico Bufagna; and her best friend and loving husband of 31 years, Jim Weber. DONALD F. DIMARCO Age 86, of Prospect, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020, while under brief care at Good Samaritan Hospice. Born on November 21, 1933, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary DiMarco. Don lived his childhood years in Aspinwall, PA. He received his Bachelor's in Education from California University of PA, and after college, served in the U.S. Army in Korea, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1957. He went on to earn his Master's in Education from Duquesne University, and to hold a long career teaching metals and plastics shop in the West Deer/Deer Lakes School District. Don ended his professional career while serving as Deer Lakes' Assistant to the Superintendent and Director of Bus Transportation. Don was an accomplished man who enjoyed people and many hobbies and activities. He relished talking with his friends, crafting woodworking projects, writing, reading, gardening, playing tennis, cooking, and dining out, or just hanging out, with his wife of 61 years, Sylvia. In his lifetime, Don became a professional print shop owner, wrote and published several children's stories and puzzles in the likes of Turtle and Highlights magazines, gave poetry programs for elementary school children, worked the local craft show circuits, and volunteered at St. Margaret's Memorial Hospital, St. Mary's of Assumption (Glenshaw), and St. Christopher's of the Lake (Prospect). More than anything, Don cherished spending time with his wife, daughter Danette, and beloved grandson, Harold. His eyes especially sparkled with love when he was with them. He was a committed and inspiring husband, father, and grandfather whose resilience, even until his last weeks, characterized his zest for life. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Sylvia A. DiMarco, whom he married on June 27, 1959; one daughter, Danette DiMarco (Stephen, deceased); and one grandson, Harold S. Domville. He lovingly follows into death his sister, Emily Gasiorowki, and his half-brothers, Joseph, Emerick, Samuel, and John Marmarella. Don's ashes will be spread privately. MARK WALTER DAVIN, SR. Mark Walter Davin, Sr., 80 (formerly of Adrian, PA), passed away on August 3, 2020, at his home in Section, AL. One of ten children, Mark was born at home on May 7, 1940, in Pittsburgh, PA, to John V. Davin and Beatrice A. Davin (née Walter). Mark served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to MaryAnn Lane on May 22, 1964. Living most of his life in Pennsylvania, Mark worked in the tree service and landscaping business for over 35 years. After moving to Alabama in the late 1990's, Mark was employed as a train car welder and worked as a butterfly farmer on his daughter's farm until he retired. Mark was a self-taught individual who enjoyed farming, construction, tinkering on cars and tractors, playing cards, reading, watching movies, and family get togethers. Mark is survived by his wife of 56 years, MaryAnn Davin; their seven children, Pauline Cassetti (Dick) of Harwick, PA, Kathleen Floccari (Michael) of Kittanning, PA, Colleen Crawford (Karl) of Ringgold, GA, Mark Davin, Jr. (Misty) of Staley, NC, Julene Nulph (Rodney) of Danville, PA, Emmalene Mercer (Jeffrey) of Searcy, AR; and Rylene Drobnjak (Ivan) of Centennial, CO; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nine siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, John and Beatrice Davin, and his grandson, Mark W. Hulihan, Jr. Due to the current pandemic, visitation and services will regrettably be private.
