Tony was a graduate of East Pittsburgh High School and a retired employee of Wabco in Wilmerding with 39 years of service. Tony loved to listen to the musical sounds of the 50's and 60's and reveled in his appreciation of classic cars and attending car cruises. CHARLES NICHOLAS "NICK" GROSS, JR. Age 78, of Orlando, Florida passed away on January 28, 2020 at AdventHealth Orlando. He was born April 19, 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Dr. Charles N. Gross and Maryalda Freund Gross. He is survived by the love of his life, Jeannette Wood of Orlando; a sister, Cheryl Gross Lane (Timothy) of Kissimmee; a daughter, Tina Gross Howes; and two sons, Charles Nicholas Gross, III and David Duane Gross (Theresa), all of St. Cloud, Florida. He also leaves four grandchildren, Dylan Gross, Kyle Gross, Tyler Howes and Taryn Howes; as well as two great-grandchildren, and a host of friends. Nick went to elementary school at St. James Catholic School and finished high school at the University School in Shadyside, Pennsylvania. He attended Penn State University where he majored in Hotel & Restaurant Administration. While in college, he was a brother in the Phi Kappa Psi men's fraternity. After college, he was employed in the corporate headquarters of Walgreen's Corporation in Chicago where he was instrumental in the development of Wag's Restaurants. After relocating to Lighthouse Point, Florida, Nick became the President of Taco Viva fast food chain. Upon retiring from a long and successful career in the food industry, he took on a new and different challenge. In 1989, he opened Snow Construction in St. Cloud, Florida. Initially, he specialized in custom built homes, but soon branched out into condos, townhouses and commercial building. Nick loved golfing, fishing, hunting and boating as long as his health allowed. He loved being with his family and friends. Skip began a graphic arts career with ALCOA and later worked as a freelance graphic artist. He loved spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren and all of the wonderful friends he had made throughout his life. Skip was an enthusiastic Disc Jockey in the Pittsburgh area for over fifty years and a member of the Beaver Bowling League for more than forty years. He also enjoyed coaching girl's softball for the Brookline Little League Association during the late 80's and 90's. He was a huge fan of the Pirates and Steelers and was a long time season ticket holder. No visitation per his request. He previously resided in New Milford, Connecticut, and spent much time with his grandson picking him up from school and just having fun. He moved back to McKeesport to be with his mother. He retired from Allegheny County as a Certified Public Accountant. (Brehm) Walthour; father of Denise L. (Richard) Speelman, Walter V. (Amy) Sidorovich and Scott H. (Yedda) Walthour; Pap Pap of Lindsay and Kelsey Speelman, Eva, Maya and Anna Sidorovich, and Lucas, Mi-ra, Jonah and Ezra Walthour. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul N. Walthour. Al received his bachelors degree from Edinboro State University, his master's degree and secondary principal certificate from Duquesne University, and at the University of Pittsburgh he did PhD course work and received his superintendent certificate. He taught science at Monroeville Junior High and best remembered for the year-long planning of a 3 day field trip to Washington, D.C. for the entire ninth grade class. He also taught at Shaler Intermediate High School; was an Assistant Principal at Yough Senior High School; High School Principal at Cranberry Jr./Sr. High School and was an Assistant Superintendent at South Butler Schools. Al was a member of the PA Middle School Executive Board and the PA Testing Committee which developed benchmarks for the science and math testing programs. For 16 years, he was a Blue/Gold officer volunteering for the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD, helping applicants with their applications and then making a Naval recommendation as to their being a potential Midshipman. He was a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church where he had served as an elder and trustee. Al was also a valued staff member at the Corl Funeral Chapel for many years. Born in 1927 in Jackson, Tennessee, Bob was raised in Detroit, Michigan. He was predeceased by his parents, Marvin and Marjorie (Thompson); his brother, Marvin, Jr. and his sister, Laura Mai (Clark). After serving in the U.S. Army during WWII, he went on to attend the University of Michigan and graduate from law school. His career as a corporate lawyer for Westinghouse in Pittsburgh took him around the world. In retirement, he continued to travel and always had a special affection for Paris. He loved to play bridge, watch classic movies, listen to opera and was an avid reader of the New York Times. He enjoyed wine, good food, and the company of his friends at Providence Point. He was predeceased by his first wife Louise (Biason) and is survived by their daughter, Leslie Bilodeau (Steven); grandchildren, Carolyn Goetz (Patrick), Peter, Joanna Seymour (Sean), John, Steven (Emily), Leah, Grace, Emmanuelle, Noah; and three great-grandchildren, Stella, Ronan, and Brody. He was also predeceased by his second wife, Regina (Walsh Kelly) and is survived by her children, Regina Vargo (Frank), Thomas Kelly (Susan), Craig Kelly (Paula), and Carl Kelly (Meg). Benna, whom he married on December 26, 1953, loving father of Mary (Dave) Buskirk, Robert A., David (Janice), Teresa (Dan) Fitzpatrick, Paul G. (Tracey), Michael (Shannon) Benna; dear grandfather of Becky (Dan), Sarah (Bobby), Matthew, Samantha (Brett), Erin, Kelly (Curt), Melissa, Jonathan, Michelle, Olivia, Libby, Jacob, and Nicholas; great-grandpa of Teagan, Jackson, and Connor. ANTONIO ALVAREZ PEDROSO Antonio Alvarez-Pedroso, 80, of Moon Twp., died peacefully on January 29, 2020 in UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh. He was born in Havana, Cuba on July 19, 1939, the son of the late Antonio and Graciela (Otero) Alvarez Pedroso. He graduated from Villanova University with a master's in Chemical Engineering, and retired as a Chemical Engineer. His interests included the stock market, traveling, and going to the gym several times a week, but above all it was spending time with and being there for family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Joyce (Price) Alvarez-Pedroso in 2010. He is survived by his son, Anthony Alvarez-Pedroso (and wife, Antoinette), Pittsburgh. A granddaughter, Talia Alvarez-Pedroso; and a sister, Graciela Garcia. Friends will be received on Wednesday February 5th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in The HUNTSMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES of Moon Twp. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd.)
