Leon hoped his legacy would be the joy he brought to people as a performer, and the encouragement he provided from his heart. THOMAS ANTHONY KATILIUS Thomas Anthony Katilius of Mill Valley, CA, passed away peacefully in San Francisco on November 7, 2019, after a brief illness. Tom was born the oldest of four siblings on February 21, 1954, in West Homestead, PA, to Bernard and Audrey Smith Katilius. Tom was an accomplished athlete and outdoor enthusiast, passionately pursuing his love for skiing, windsurfing, mountain biking and fly-fishing throughout his life. He attended the University of Denver where he was a member of the alpine racing team and later ran the ski academy at Aspen Highlands. Tom moved to the Bay area in the early 1980's where he built a successful professional career as an investment adviser at the San Francisco offices of Hambrecht & Quist, Credit Suisse, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch. Tom met his wife Karen Fairty in 2001, and over the past 18 years, they shared countless memorable moments of joy and passion with each other, close friends and family. They loved their life together in Mill Valley, walking to town for quiet dinners at their favorite restaurants and hiking the beautiful trails of Mount Tamalpais. Tom was preceded by his sister, Amy. He is survived by Karen; his sister, Susan; his brother, Mark; nieces, Andi, Janine, Anna and Ainsley; and a community of incredible friends and extended family, each of whom enriched Tom's life and will cherish their memories of him. Born in Brackenridge on October 20, 1926, he was one of two born to the late Norman L. and Agnes (Clark) Simpson. In 1981, Norman was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Kitty Simpson. Norman was blessed with love again and is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Carol (Munce) Simpson; loving father of Sue Tylka (Ted), Keith Simpson (Kim), Doug Simpson (Jackie Van Tassel), and Judy Simpson; step-father of Carol Wickline (Wally), Sunnie Klobchar (Roger) and Marci Joy; grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of nine; cherished brother of Dolores Sapienza. Norman retired in 1989 after 38 years with TWA as a ticket agent and load controller. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He enlisted in the US Army and became a sergeant with the Army Security Agency in Germany. From 1950 to 1992 he owned Stephens Flowers in Wilkinsburg. After his retirement, he worked for Oliver Flowers until January of 2018. Last surviving member of Wilkinsburg American Legion, Post 305. Member of Wilkinsburg Elks, BPOE 577. President of Wilkinsburg Boys Club for 15 years. PAUL MARTIN HENRY Age 81, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2019, with his wife, Helen Billak, by his side. Survived by his children, Cynthia (Vince) Pinto, Pamela (Craig) Moss, Martin (Larry) Henry, and Alexandra (Lewis) Henry-McDonald. Grandfather to Wyatt, Grant, Chloe, Shannon and Dominique. His sister, Arlene Henry, John and Kathy Billak, in-laws; his former wife, Judith Hollein and his extended family and many beloved nieces and nephews as well as his best friend, Chris Gillotti and his family. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he spent most of his early years on Cora Street in the Brushton area of the City. He was a proud graduate of Westinghouse High School and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, while working full time at the Pittsburgh Lake Erie Train Station and the YMCA as a laborer. Upon graduation from Pitt, Paul started in the Municipal Bond industry in 1960 at the First National Bank in Chicago. His career spanned over 48 years, and he loved the business. He excelled at trading, underwriting, and sales, and few had his talent and creativity. He was with many great firms over the years, and owned Henry Kearns Municipals, West Penn Municipals and BFA Municipal Securities. During a time when Pittsburgh was a center of commerce and industry, Paul was a colorful legend in the municipal bond business. He served as the President of the Bond Club of Pittsburgh and was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Municipal Traders. He was involved in the original financing of Three Rivers Stadium in 1969 and a constant Steeler fan. He loved classical music, Gilbert and Sullivan and Sousa marches. A great history buff, he possessed an amazing memory filled with more trivia than imaginable. He loved telling stories about what once was in Pittsburgh. Paul loved cars and may have traded more cars than bonds. He also loved dogs, having 12 Dobermans at once. His final puppies were miniature dachshunds, Max, Otto and Erika. Paul served on innumerable boards and commissions, was as an AAU swimming official, football and soccer coach and a member of the Duquesne Club for 45 years. Paul leaves a legacy of friends and stories. He was an extraordinary person and will be remembered by many as such. Friends welcome THURSDAY, 3:00 until 7:30 at which time a Parastas Service will take place. Funeral Service will be FRIDAY at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 320 Munson Avenue, McKees Rocks. Parking is located behind the church on Helen Street. The church will open at 9:30 for visitation. Beloved husband of 62 years to Roberta Cholewinski; loving father of Debby (Mike) Mulvihill, Elaine (Mike) Dunlap, Mitch (Teresa) Cholewinski, Tom (Jennifer) Cholewinksi, Ann Marie Cholewinski (Mike Simmons), Cheryl (James) Kasper, Tom (Debbie) Dorsey and the late Patricia Ann Cholewinski; brother of the late Stanley and Eddie Cholewinski, Jane Jones, and Lee Furmanek; also survived by 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
