Zober; aunt of Bernard (LaJune) Cohen of Ohio, Andrea Zober of Munhall, the late William (late Karen) Zober and Wilbert (late Barbara) Cohen; also survived by ten great-nieces and nephews; and 19 great-great- nieces and nephews. Miss Zober was a legal secretary for 37 years. She was the past President of Hadar Group of Hadassah. A life long member of Hadassah, Irene volunteered for many years with the Pittsburgh chapter. LUNZ FRANCIS C., Sr. Age 82, of Tionesta, PA, formerly of Troy Hill, Pgh., on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Golden Living Center, Titusville, PA. Born May 13, 1931, in Pgh., son of the late Bernard and Hilda (Stang) Lunz. On March 10, 1953, in Pgh., he married Anna M. (Geimer) Lunz. The couple just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Member of St. Anthony's R.C. Church and the Knights of Columbus of Tionesta. Served his country during the Korean conflict in the U.S. Army. Francis was a police officer and worked as a 1st grade Detective, Burglary Division, and in the Canine Unit, for the City of Pgh., retiring in 1989. During that time, from 1982 until 1989, he also owned a private investigation firm, Steel City Investigations. He also worked for Hughes & Hatcher Men's Store in Pgh. as a security guard. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #1 of Pgh. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved his Beagles. Surviving are two sons, Gary F. Lunz of Pgh., Francis C. Lunz, Jr. and wife, Jean, of Butler, PA; three daughters, Mary Jo Hills and husband, Bruce of Pgh., Mary Ann Goode of Export, PA, Bernadette A. Stewart and husband, Eric, of Warrendale, PA; eight grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; brother, Edwin Lunz of Pgh.; three sisters, Rosalia Abel of Millvale, PA, Marian Lorenz of Pgh., Bernadette Kryl and her husband, Joseph, also of Pgh.; several nieces and nephews. In addition to parents, preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph Lunz and two brothers in infancy; five sisters deceased, Gertrude Enz, Mercedes Bradley, Lorraine Rau, Dolores Enz, and Margaret Archey. Friends will first be received at the HUGHES FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1501 Lowrie St., Pittsburgh, PA (Troy Hill) on Friday from 2-5 p.m. Friends will then be received at the NORMAN J. WIMER FUNERAL HOME of Tionesta, PA on Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014, at St. Anthony's R.C. Church at 10 a.m., with Father Joseph Kalinowski, Celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Tidioute, PA. Full military rights will be accorded. LALLY JAMES F. "JIMMY" On Monday, April 14, 2014, at age 90, a lifelong resident of Oakland. Beloved husband for 56 years of Joan K. Lally; father of Michelle H. Lally (Philip B. Skender); also survived by many godchildren and cousins in the Walsh, Lally and Obringer families. Son of the late Helen Walsh Lally and James A. Lally. Jimmy attended St. Regis (Chapel) grade school, and graduated from Central Catholic High School, Class of 1941. He served as Assistant Business Agent of Steamfitters L.U. #449 for 33 years and was the longest serving elected officer. He was elected to Pittsburgh City Council in 1975 and served as President of Pittsburgh Building and Construction Trades Council, was a member Federal Home Loan Bank Board, Port Authority Board, Pittsburgh Stadium Authority, and Executive Director, Three Rivers Stadium and the Allegheny Labor Council. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Knights of Equity, and St. Paul Cathedral, where he served as head usher at the 10 a.m. Mass for 72 years and a member of the Pittsburgh Athletic Association. Friends will be received at JOHN A. CONNELLY CHRISTOPHER, Jr. Age 62, of Pleasant Hills, died Monday, April 14, 2014, after a brief illness. He was the beloved brother of John Charles Connelly of Philadelphia, PA, Daniel and Marjorie Connelly, both of New York City; son of the late Christopher, Sr. and Ann Connelly of Pleasant Hills. Chris was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and attended Pennsylvania State University. He was a longtime clerk for the State of Pennsylvania, Dept. of Taxation. He was an avid reader of history and politics and a great fan of pop culture, particularly the music of the 1960s and 1970s. He was known to friends and family for his astute observations and strong opinions. There will be no visitation.
