BUSH PAUL H. Age 72, of Latrobe, died Monday, December 10, 2018, at The Grove at Latrobe. He was born September 21, 1946, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Robert H. and Emma C. (Barrett) Bush; brother of Robert J. Bush, of Washington Township, Marilyn R. Sero (George), of Penn Hills, and Richard T. Bush (Lauren), of Shef?eld Lake, Ohio; and uncle of Michelle Knox. Paul was formerly employed by Charles Chips Distributors. He was Catholic by faith. Beloved husband of George Ann (McGann) Bower; loving father of Teresa (John) Shedlock and Lori Bower (Ian Kane); pap of Casey (Justin) Lewis, Shea (Patrick) McGraw, Johnny and Artie Kane; step-pap of Sara and Greg Shedlock; great-pap of Ellis Lewis and Mason McGraw; brother of Annette (Walter “Chip”) Huttinger; son of the late Harvey and Ann (DeCecco) Bower; nephew of Odette Flanagan; uncle of Deana Donovan and Donnie Stiegler; brother-in-law of Nancy DeCarpio, Paula Tournay and Paul Richard McGann; survived by special cousin, Leo DeCecco; many other cousins and friends. Harvey was a CPA who graduated from St. Justin High and Duquesne University. He was founder and creator of “Certi?ed Fast Play.” He was a pioneer in the Pro-Life movement. He was an avid writer of Letters to the Editor as he was never shy to pass on his opinion. He was a Patriot who daily consumed political and social events. JASON MITCHELL Age 24 of Fort Carson, Colorado formerly of Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Export, PA passed away tragically from injuries sustained in Afghanistan on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Beloved husband of Lillie Renee (Ashbaugh) McClary; loving father of Jett Isaac and Jason James McClary; adored son of Raymond and Jolynn Maiolie; brother of Jennifer (Jason) Lorent and Jeffrey (Katrina) Ritter; son-in-law of Eric Ashbaugh and Lillie (Mike) Ayers; brother-in-law of Eric, Ryan, Autumn, and Faith Ashbaugh and Kim Nielsen; also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jason was a hard worker who attained his certi?cation in machining while attending Kiski Area High School. He was a devoted Christian and attended Keystone Christian Church in Export. His hobbies included working on his Corvette, riding dirt bikes, and shooting guns. Jason was a devoted father and husband who loved spending time with his family. NOVAK ELSIE M. (HOLT) Age 90, of North Versailles, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018. She was born April 23, 1928 in North Versailles, a daughter of the late Harry A. and Hilda M. (Herrmann) Holt; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Victor A. Novak; a son, James H. Novak; and her sister, Virginia J. Holt. She was a graduate of East McKeesport High School, attended Westminster College, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a retired French and English school teacher for the McKeesport Area School District. Elsie was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Versailles, and the Women of the ELCA. She loved gardening and traveling. She is survived by her son, John E. Novak, and his wife, Lora; her daughter- in-law, Mary Anne Novak; her grandchildren, Brittany Novak, Janine (Matt) Then, Bryce Novak, Sara (Adam) Maloney, and Benjamin (Noemie) Novak; and her great-grandsons, Nathan and Joshua Then. KAMARAS DEAN C. Passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, December 13, 2018. Preceded in death by his ?rst wife of 36 years, Nicoletta Kamaras; and his second wife of 25 years, Callie Kamaras; survived by his son, Peter D. Kamaras; and daughters, Dae Machin (husband, Jim) and Diane Strauch (husband, Pat); grandfather of Nicoletta, Dina, Jimmy, Nicholas, Demetri, and   Sutton; great-grandfather of Alexander. From humble beginnings, Dean graduated from Carnegie Tech, earning both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In his professional life, he became Vice President of PBI industries, chaired one of the Nuclear Regulatory committees charged with establishing design specifications for nuclear power plants, designed and built buildings on six continents including Antarctica, and was Director of Engineering for Eichleay Engineering. In his later years, and working until early 2018, Dean designed numerous churches throughout the country. For his tireless work with the Orthodox Church of North America, the title Archon Dean C. Kamaras, Architekton Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople was bestowed upon him by the Orthodox Patriarch. A member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Oakland for much of his life, he served on the parish council for over 30 years, holding the title of president on several occasions. HINDMAN DENNIS C. Age 68, of Level Green, fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, December 14, 2018, after a long, hard battle with prostate cancer brought on by Agent Orange. He was born on February 1, 1950 in Glen?eld to the late James and B. Irene (Davis) Hindman. Dennis served in-country in Vietnam as a member of the US Army 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. He was a member- at-large of the former VFW Post 5008 in East Pittsburgh and retired from the Veterans Administration after many years as a driver. Dennis was a retired volunteer ?re?ghter and member of Level Green Station 9. As an active member of Level Green VFD, he ran the bingo, played Santa at Christmas, ran the bar, was club Steward—he did everything there. He has also worked at US Steel as a craneman and as a sales manager for Star Chevrolet. Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Mary (Speelman) Hindman; four daughters, Anissa (Tim) Howard, Stacie Trent, Denise (George) Omcikus, and Ashley (Chad) Campbell; 10 grandchildren, Nathan and Aleksey Hindman, Alexander and Molly Howard, Sophia, Byron, and Myrna Trent, Gracie Omcikus, Carter and Kylie Campbell; four brothers and a sister, John Hindman, Tom (Marianne) Hindman, Robert Hindman, Donald (Janet) Hindman, and Karen (Gary) Kuntz; sister- in-law, Nancy Kreinbrook; brother-in-law, James Speelman; and several nieces and nephews. VANDENBERG M. LOUISE Age 94, of McCandless, formerly of Springdale, went to her eternal reward on Friday, December 14, 2018. She was formerly a Sister of Divine Providence known as Sister Rene. Louise was the daughter of August and Louise DeValkeneer Vandenberg. She was born in Springdale and was a member of St. Alphonsus Church. For many years, Louise served as an Elementary teacher and Principal in schools in the Diocese of Pittsburgh in the neighborhoods of Duqusne, Sharpsburg, Castle Shannon, the Hill District, Larimar, Beaver Falls, Springhill, and at Toner Institute. Louise earned her Bachelor's degree in education from Duquesne University. Surviving her are nieces and nephews, Jeanette (Steve) Burford of OK, James (Staci) Foulks of AZ, and Daniel (Samantha) Foulks of TN; besides her parents, Louise was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph.
