AZZARI MARGARET M. Age 88, of Jefferson Hills, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Born in Scranton, PA, on March 31, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Mary and John Benish of Duquesne, PA. She married Peter J. Azzari in 1955. They celebrated their 62 years together on June 25, 2017. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2018. Marge was a loving mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. Spending time with her family was what she enjoyed the most. She was hardworking, and taught her daughters how to be strong willed women as she led by example. She always enjoyed a good conversation in her ethnic language of Slovak. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Marge and Pete enjoyed traveling around the world. They have visited many parts of the United States, but their favorite excursion was their trip to their homelands of Czechoslovakia and Italy to visit relatives. She also enjoyed the games of chance at the casino and playing the daily lottery. She took pride in her abundant garden. She also dabbled in artwork, as she always mailed out her holiday cards to her family complete with her sketches decorating the envelopes. She proudly served as a Lecture at St. Paulinus Church in Clairton for 35 years. She was a past Vice President of the Slovak Catholic Sokol, Assembly 295 in Duquesne, PA. She was a Data Processor at U.S. Steel, Irvin Works Plant and Wetterau, Inc. in Belle Vernon. In her younger years, she enjoyed working at Kennywood Park as a waitress. She was a member of the Yankee Doodle Dandy Singing group, performing for area senior citizens especially during the holidays. She volunteered for many years at Jefferson Hospital in the Gift Shop. She is survived by her four daughters, Tina (Mike) Quinn of Sutersville, Corrine (Carl) Hancock of Elizabeth, Marcia (Fred) Bercik of Charleroi, and Annette Azzari of Peters Township; her grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) Quinn, Brandon (Emily) Quinn, Kayla (Tim) Snyder, Marissa (Colby) Scullion, Kirstie Moore, Tyler Bercik; great-grandchildren, Olive and Cole Quinn, Khloe Snyder; and her brother, John Benish of Maryland; she is also survived by nieces and nephews; along with her husband, Pete, she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary (Benish) Schillaci; her brother, George Benish. Beloved wife of the late Albert Edward Valko; loving mother of Donna Lee (the late Charles) Robinson, Albert (Mindy) E. Valko, and the late Beverly Valko Gerthoffer; also survived by her five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her three brothers. Mary was a devout Catholic who was dedicated to following Christ's teachings. She believed her greatest gift was her friendship, which she would graciously offer to anyone she encountered. She loved visiting family and friends, sharing stories over a cup of coffee and supporting her church. PATBERG ROLF L. Age 52 of Murrysville, PA, passed away on November 20, 2018. Beloved husband of Sharon (Krawczyk) Patberg; loving father of Megan (Matthew) Morin, Matthew Patberg, Shannon Patberg, and Alexa Patberg; son of Joan Patberg and preceded in death by Rolf P. Patberg; brother of Eric (Michele) Patberg, Christine Patberg, and Eileen (Richard) Misselwitz, brotherin-law of Thomas (Sherry) Krawczyk and John (Michelle) Krawczyk; son-in-law of Thomas and Peggy Krawczyk; and also survived by many nieces and nephews. Rolf grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from Langley High School. He continued on to Gannon University and the University Of Pittsburgh School of Law. After graduation, Rolf practiced law for more than 25 years as a trial lawyer, always fighting for the underdog. His value on education was a strong influence on his children and the many kids he mentored and coached. When his day wasn't in the courtroom, Rolf's happiest times were found on a field, be it football, softball, baseball, soccer or a basketball court. He spent 25 years coaching all of his kids on whatever sport they were playing. His greatest joy was watching every child on the team succeed and improve. His love and pride in all things Pittsburgh was the driving force for Rolf and Sharon to establish 30 years of raising their family in Murrysville. He loved his wife, his children, his city and his sports teams deeply. The loyalty and generosity Rolf displayed often happened with no expectation of anything in return. GIBBONS SR. MARY AGNES, OSF On November 22, 2018 at the age of 83. Loving daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Gibbons; cousin of William Davis, of Scranton, PA. Sister Mary Agnes Gibbons completed her journey to God. Sister was born in Scranton, PA and entered the Sisters of St. Francis in Millvale on August 1, 1955 from St. Edward Parish in Blawnox. For 12 years, Sister taught in various elementary schools in the Pittsburgh diocese. For eight years, she served as principal in St. Ann School in Millvale. Sister soon transitioned to other ministries, which included teaching at Mt. Alvernia High School and Vocation Director for the Sisters of St. Francis in Millvale. For several years, Sister served as a Christian Formation Consultant in the Diocese of Greensburg as well as in the Diocese of Steubenville. In 1993, she was elected to serve on the leadership team for the Sisters of St. Francis in Millvale. After four years, she returned to the Diocese of Steubenville to minister again for seven years as a Christian Formation Consultant. Sister concluded her active years of ministry in community service at Mt. Alvernia Convent. Throughout her life, Sister Mary Agnes remained grateful to her parents for teaching her to pray and to have a profound love for God. Her journey through various ministries ultimately led her to teach and encourage others in developing a strong faith in God. James was a retired carpenter and construction worker, and served his country in the Korean War. He was a former member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and Wexford Community Presbyterian Church. GARDNER DOLORES R. "DOLLY" (KALINA) Age 86 of Monroeville, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Charles "Charlie" W. Gardner; loving mother of Charles W. (Penny) Gardner, Diane Gardner, and the late Michele Dana; grandmother of Bryan Gardner. Preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Dolly was a member of the Monroeville Senior Citizens and the Mid-Century Club. Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) corner of (445) Beatty Rd. and 48 North, Monroeville (412-856-4747).
