NOVOTNY JUDITH LYNN Age 61, of Murrysville, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh following a courageous year-and-a-half battle with Leukemia. She was born March 11, 1957 in Harrison Township to the late Frederick H. and Doris L. (Schrecengost) Rosskamp. Judy lived the past three years in Murrysville, and, prior to that, Plum Boro. She was a Sr. Industrial Engineer and an Assistant Vice President and IT Senior Manager at Federated Investors, Pittsburgh and Warrendale. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Corvette Club of Western PA. Judy graduated in 1975 from Springdale High School, and earned her Bachelor's and Master's from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a technical writer for Dave's Computer Tips and enjoyed writing on her computer. She also enjoyed cooking, walking, shopping, traveling and especially visiting her family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Richard M. Novotny; son, Michael F. Novotny, Verona; and a sister, Linda (Albert) Cerminara, Penn Hills; a nephew, Christopher (Stefanie) Cerminara; niece, Stacie (Jon) Milos; as well as three great-nieces; and two great-nephews. BRAUN W. ARLEEN Age 94, of Wexford, PA, passed away on September 2, 2018. Daughter of Alfred Nicholas and Pansy Laverne Von Pein; and sister to Donald, Eugene, and Clifford Von Pein and Wanda (Fritz) Brant; also preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, James A Braun; mother of Bruce A. Braun and Beverly (Paul) Domasky; doting grandmother of Emily (Christian) Locher, Paulson (Stephanie) Domasky, Audrey and Allison, Jaxson, and Colby Jax. Arleen was so proud to have served in the United States Navy during WWII. She then worked several secretarial jobs including Duff's, and Wright Pontiac. After the full time job raising her two children and beloved dog Trudy, she relished the opportunity to work at Bradford Hills Veterinary Hospital and then seasonally at Sea Base Camp in the Florida Keys. She loved wintering in the Florida Keys at Venture Out, Cudjoe Key and later their home on Big Pine Key. She stayed very active there with her church and took long walks, hiked, went bike riding, and canoeing through the canals with friends. She swam in their backyard daily and enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets every evening. She started travelling and going on mission trips at the ripe young age of 73 and enjoyed her trips well into her eighties. Arleen was a member of North Way Christian Community for 30 years; active in L.A.M.P, Kidz, Bible studies, Prayer Groups, Greeter, Missions, Stuffers, and Seniors Group to name a few. She also was a member of the local A.G.L.O.W for many years. Our family wishes to especially recognize Yvonne, Emilina and Eric for their care and support over the last five years as well as the entire amazing team of caregivers at Paramount Senior Living Community for the past three years. Donations can be directed to North Way Christian Community designated to the L.A.M.P. ministry to benefit students in the Homewood Community or in lieu of a financial donation, give someone a hug and a kind word in honor of Arleen. That always made her day! She is survived by her parents, Marcia and Ken Myers, Sarasota, FL, formerly of Ben Avon Heights; she also leaves her brother, David, Myrtle Beach; and uncle, Bill Neil, Moon Township. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marsena and Bob Neil of Edgeworth. Born in Minneapolis, she lived in the Pittsburgh area until her marriage in 1984. She graduated from Avonworth High School and went on to the University of Cincinnati where she met her husband Jim. Her career centered on interiors design for commercial buildings and residences. She is also survived by her husband, and daughters Sarah Andrus Vaidya and Ruk Vaidya, New York City, Gretchen and Chris Andrew, Los Angeles, and Claire Andrus, Portland, OR.
