BOWSER DAWN E. (JONES) Age 45, of Knox, PA, formerly of West View, on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Beloved wife for 24 years of Thomas B. Bowser; mother of Nicholas J. (Holly), Marina L., and Natalie M. Bowser; daughter of Ralph and Lynn (Sweeney) Jones; sister of Jamie (John) Reel, Tammy (Travis) Simmons, and Debbie (Timothy) Wittig. Dawn was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Her infectious smile never left her beautiful face during her courageous cancer battle. LINNEMAN VIRGINIA "AUNT GINNY" Age 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. She passed away from complications of a recent stroke. Aunt Ginny was born February 7, 1924, in Coulter, PA. She resided many years with her sister, Thelma (Jack) Carlson in McKeesport. After retiring from Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh (Shipping Department), she lived approximately 25 years in Ft. Myers, Florida. At the age of 90, she moved in with her niece, Connie Carlson Meyers (Jeffrey) in North Huntingdon. Aunt Ginny was the daughter of the late LeRoy Sylvester and Caroline Susanna (Reitler) Linneman. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Thelma Carlson and Phyllis Menzies. She is survived by four nieces and four nephews. She loved her family, the family pets, her game shows, her sweets and chocolate, but especially her beloved Pirates. Aunt Ginny was a member of the North Shore Alliance Church of North Fort Myers, FL (and previously a member of the McKeesport, PA Christian and Missionary Alliance Church). Aunt Ginny will be lovingly missed by her family, but she was ready and looking forward to Heaven. Family and friends will be received at JAYCOX - JAWORSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. SMITH GLENN A. It is with great sadness that the family of Glenn A. Smith of Mt. Lebanon announces his passing on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at the age of 65 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Marie (Martinelli); and his children, Jenna (Christopher) Ralston, Jeffrey, and Jeremy; and his sisters, Elizabeth Herman, Mary Lee (John) Cunningham, and Alice Smith. Glenn will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Anna and Henry; his brother-in-law, James Martinelli; and numerous nieces and nephews. Son of the late Elizabeth “Betty” and Glenn Smith, Sr. of Butler, PA, Glenn attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a degree in civil engineering. He worked designing and inspecting bridges for Gannett Fleming for 38 years. He was always home from work in time to be with his family and attend and coach any of his children's sporting or musical events. He was playful with his grandchildren, making them laugh and think that they had the silliest Poppo around. FISHER WILLIAM E. Passed away on July 6, 2018, at the age of 77, peacefully, during a family reunion. A native of Pittsburgh, Bill attended West View High School and spent most of his career in information technology at Laborers Combined Funds. Bill was an outdoor enthusiast, a master woodworker, a multiple trophy-winning marksman, a serious ham radio enthusiast, and one of the early, self-taught computer scientists that paved the way for NASA missions and such industries as HBO.  He was still an active member of the Pittsburgh Tutonia Club and the Pittsburgh Computer Club. He loved sharing his knowledge and passions with others and stayed active doing so. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Irene, as well as his children and grandchildren, Will, Nancy (Audrey), Kathy (Eleanor and Edmund), Michael (Haden and Wyatt). PURTELL MICHAEL M. "CANDLE MAN" Age 76 of Verona, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018. Son of the late John and Ruth (Rhodes) Purtell; beloved husband for 55 years of Linda (Penney) Purtell; loving father of Michael M. Purtell, Jr.; brother of J. Stephen (Patricia) Purtell, Irene (Jim) Lichota, and the late Gerry Purtell and Carolyn Vogel; brother-in-law of Larry Vogel, Marcia (Frank) Crummer, and the late Bruce C. and Joann Penney; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends.  The family would like to thank the Willows at Presbyterian Senior Care and Allegheny Health Network Hospice for their wonderful care that was provided. Mike was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Verona and served in the Army Reserves from 1963-1968. He had a 44 year career with A. I Root Candle Company, being a third generation salesman from his family.  He was an avid Pittsburgh Sports fan and golfer having a hole in one at Alcoma on Hole #8 which was 136 yards using a 8 iron on July 13, 2000. HICKEY ELIZABETH R. "BETTY" (ORME) Of Oakdale, PA, passed away peacefully in Her home on August 1, 2018. Betty was born on September 4, 1939, in New York City, NY. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert; and her sisters, Eileen, Barbara, Emily, and Belinda. Survived by her Loving husband, John G. Hickey of Oakdale; son, John (Tammy) Hickey of Imperial; and daughter, Annmarie (Chuck) Bucek of McKees Rocks; grandsons, Jeremy (Autumn) Hickey of Imperial, Brandon (Monet) Hickey of Imperial; and four beautiful great-grandchildren; beloved sister of Patricia (Frank) Shea of Connecticut, and Lorraine (William) Moore of New York; and was truly loved by many nieces and nephews. At the age of 47, Betty chose to go back to school to be a Nurse and in 1986 she graduated at the top of her class at Ohio Valley Hospital Nursing School. Betty loved her profession as a Nurse, always showing compassion for all of her patients. After having survived a major stroke in 1999, Betty did not stop from enjoying life to the fullest. She volunteered at Ohio Valley Hospital, was an avid reader and she loved swimming and soaking in the sun. Betty traveled to many places in the world both with friends and family. She was a bright light and inspiration to all that had the privilege of knowing and loving her. The family is requesting that all wear bright colors, as that is how we would like Betty remembered. She will be missed by all that knew her. POLEN RAMONA CRISPINA (MARAMBA) Age 72, of Murrysville passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Wife of the late James Peter Polen; daughter of the late Helen and Jan Maramba; and sister of the late Daniel Maramba. Ramona is survived by a daughter, Rachelle McMaster; son-in-law Jamie McMaster; and grandchildren, Madison, Daniel, and Mia of Murrysville. She is also survived by a sister, Doreen Kruth; brother-in-law, Robert Kruth and nieces Candice, Nicole and Angelica, as well as numerous cousins.  Ramona was a graduate of Munhall High School and was employed as an administrative assistant at Mesta Machine Company and Federal Pacific Electric. Together with her husband, she served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Small Aircraft Association. She received an Associate Degree in Performing Arts from CCAC and went on to perform at Sherwood Forest Summer Theater.  She took psychology classes at the University of Pittsburgh and watercolor classes at Oxford University. Ramona was a member of the Watercolor Society of Pittsburgh where she served as Awards Chair. She received many Judges Awards and Best of Show for her brilliant watercolor flowers. Her achievements culminated in a one-woman-show at the Monroeville Library.  Throughout her life, Ramona pursued her passion for travel, sunshine and giving back to her community through volunteering with the Murrysville Women's Club and the Ministry of Consolation at the Mother of Sorrows Parish.  She was devoted to her daughter and grandchildren and she was beloved by her family and many dear friends.  Visitation 6-8 p.m. Saturday and 1-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the HART FUNERAL HOME INC., Murrysville. LONG MARION E. Age 85, died August 2, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Steve and Mary (Bortak) Estochin. She was the beloved wife of the late James E. Long, whom she is now reunited with in Heaven. Marion is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Mark) Rider of West Mifflin; grandsons, Justin (Kathleen) Vitullo of Bethel Park and Jacob Vitullo of West Mifflin; sister, Wilma Traud of FL; brothers, Steve "Sonny" Estochin of McKeesport and Albert Estochin of McKeesport; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Mularski; also nieces and nephews.
