SANTAGUIDA DOMINIC “DOM” A. Age 78, of Peters Twp., formerly of Mt. Lebanon, peacefully, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Barbara (Hiller) Santaguida for 42 years; loving father of Camille (Michael) Bodnar and Anthony (Beth) Santaguida; proud grandfather of Dominic and Jonathan Bodnar and Owen and Juliet Santaguida; caring brother of Concetta (Sal) Ortenzo and Josephine Santaguida; son of the late Joseph and Grace Santaguida; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Santaguida was a longtime Mason and Shriner and was in charge of the Shrine Family Picnic for over 25 years. He was a member of the Valleybrook Country Club and was an avid golfer. DAUGHERTY RUBY M. Age 90, of Finleyville, died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at her daughter's home in McMurray. She was born September 23, 1926 in Ginger Hill, a daughter of Gomer and Clara Shaffer Williams. Mrs. Daugherty was a dance instructor who owned and operated Ruby Daugherty and Sherry School of Dance in Library. She was the founder and original director of the nine time world champion 'Modernettes' Baton Corps, a member of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania for over 50 years and a charter member of the National Baton Twirlers Association Hall of Fame. Surviving are a daughter, Sherry Vignoli-Parisi and her husband Patrick of McMurray; a grandson, Troy Vignoli (Michelle); three great-grandchildren, Guy, Miranda and Ava; two step-grandchildren, Jim (Marione) and Ed (Jenny) Parisi; five step-great-grandchildren, Joey, Pete, Clare, Cathy and Marie; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her husband, Harry “Clem” Daugherty, who died in April of 2016; a brother and two sisters. DiPALMA TOTH BARBARA L. (TROFKA) Age 78, of Cheswick, passed away on Thursday July 27, 2017 in West Penn Hospital. She was born on January 16, 1939 to the late Steve and Catherine Sert Trofka. Barbara lived her life fully and fearlessly. She treasured family and opened hers to welcome everyone drawn to her warmth, generosity and laughter. After an early graduation from Ken High, Barbara followed her dreams to California and a career as a proud stewardess and sales agent for Western Airlines, whose business card she still carries. After a successful career she returned to Pennsylvania to raise her family. She is survived by her son, Steven C. DiPalma of Cheswick; daughter Tamara L. DiPalma of Pittsburgh; son James S. (Michelle) DiPalma of Springdale; the “lights of her life“ grandchildren, James Michael and Shelby Rose DiPalma; and her nephew, Shane Trofka of Maui. Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by the love of her life, John R. Toth. She will be remembered for her love of black labs, all wildlife, The Pittsburgh Steelers, her camp in Tyler and all holiday gatherings, great and small. JUHAS LUCILLE J. (BOCCARDI) Age 85, of Verona, PA passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017. Lucille's cremated remains will be united forever with those of her true love and late husband of 55 years, William A. Juhas, per their request. A memorial gathering and private burial will not occur immediately and will be announced at a later time. Lucille was born in New Eagle, PA on February 26, 1932. After high school, she became a member of the secretarial pool at Bettis Atomic Power Lab where she met Bill. They married in 1955 and started a family, which soon became Lucille's fulltime job. She lived life to the fullest as a doting mother and grandmother and was known for her remarkable wit. She was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels in Penn Hills. Lucille is survived by daughters, Mary C. Juhas (John Lippold), of Hilliard, OH, Elizabeth M. Juhas (Harry Tuminello), of Churchill, PA, and L. Diane Juhas (Yolanda Baldwin), of Framingham, MA; grandchildren, Gabriel Tuminello (Lauren Regula-Tuminello), of Wilkins Twp., PA, Kat Tuminello, of Pittsburgh, PA, and Evan Baldwin-Juhas, of Framingham, MA; siblings, Marie (Boccardi) Stosic, James Boccardi, Shirley (Boccardi) Arendas, and Jeannine Boccardi. TOLCHIN SANFORD FRANK Sanford Frank Tolchin, "Sandy," died peacefully in his home on July 24, 2017, in Bonita Springs, FL. He was 75. Dr. Tolchin was born on March 5, 1942, in Pittsburgh, PA to his parents, Leonard and Ruth Tolchin. He graduated from Washington and Jefferson College and went to medical school at the University of Pittsburgh. He served in the United States Air Force before starting his career in private practice as a Rheumatologist in Pittsburgh. Sanford continued his career as Chief Medical Officer at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI and then VP of Physician Affairs at Ascension Health in St. Louis, MO before retiring to Bonita Springs, FL. Dr. Tolchin is survived by his wife, Diane (Johnston) Tolchin and her son and granddaughter of Bonita Springs, FL; his son, David and daughter-in-law, Kathleen of Charlotte, NC; his son, Daniel and daughter-in-law, Krista of Charlotte, NC; his brother, Stuart of Pittsburgh, PA; his sister, Paula of Pittsburgh, PA; and five grandchildren. Sanford was an avid golfer and had many wonderful friends in Florida, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania and beyond. While in St. Louis, he enjoyed following the Cardinals but he was first and foremost a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. His family wishes to thank all his caregivers who provided such wonderful comfort and support over the last years. A memorial to celebrate Sanford's life will be held in Pittsburgh, PA at a future date. He was born April 5, 1956, in Westmoreland City, he is the son of Cordellia (Campbell) Peterson Salsi, of Jeannette and the late Othneil “Joe” Salsi. Rick was employed as manager of store wages and analysis for Champs Sports/Footlocker, Inc., of Bradenton for 39 years. He was a 1974 graduate of Norwin High School, and was a member of the football team. Rick earned his Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Edinboro University, and was a member of the TAU KAPPA EPSILON Fraternity.
