
KILGORE MARY PAMELA 64, of Upper St. Clair, on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. Mary Pam was born May 26, 1949 in Meadville, Pennsylvania to Lynn Richard Blanchard and Martha Aileen Obergh Blanchard. She graduated Meadville High School in 1967 and attended Slippery Rock University before moving to Erie, Pennsylvania where she worked for Erie Insurance. She wed Michael James Sprague in 1972 and moved to Denver, Colorado where she continued to work for Erie Insurance before having her daughter, Sarah and son Sebastian. While in Denver, she became a Le Leche League volunteer and leader, a group she continued to work with once the family moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1979. When the family relocated Pittsburgh in 1982, she served on the board of the La Leche League of Western Pennsylvania. She also volunteered as a Brownie leader and was on the board of the Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania. Mary Pam returned to school and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Chatham College in 1987. She began her next career in radio by helping to get WYEP-FM 91.3 back on the air and eventually served as Operations Manager for the station, contributing to the rebirth of folk, blues and alternative music reaching the mainstream in Pittsburgh. During this time she served on the board of Calliope The Pittsburgh Folk Music Society and begin working at the annual Pittsburgh Blues Festival, a group she was involved with until her passing. Despite a busy work schedule, Mary Pam continued volunteering in her children's school activities. In 1998 she started her own event planning business, which she would eventually name Kilgore Business Solutions. She was divorced from Michael in 1997 and remarried Robert J. Kilgore in 1999, a devoted husband she loved and cherished until the end of her life. Mary Pam was the incoming President of National Association of Women Business Owners Pittsburgh chapter and was active with the South Hills Chamber of Commerce. Mary Pam is proceeded in death by her parents and her old sister Georgia Arey of Atlanta, Georgia (Katherine). She is survived by her loving husband Robert; daughter, Sarah (Bryan O'Donnell) of Los Angeles, California; son, Sebastian Sprague (Melinda Potter) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; brothers, Lynn Richard Blanchard (Joan) of Sharon, Pennsylvania and John Blanchard of Cheshire, Connecticut; sister, Deana Blanchard (Charles Young) of Burnsville, North Carolina; as well as many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. A memorial will be at held at BEINHAUER FUNERAL HOME, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317 (724-941-3211) on Saturday, August 3, at 11 a.m. with a service at noon.
