ORTMANN CHARLES S. Age 79, of Uniontown, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 10, 1927, in Pittsburgh, PA, son of Sebastian J. Ortmann and Christine Sholtz Ortmann. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Ortmann. Charles graduated from St. Martin's High School in 1945 and received his degree in electrical engineering from University of Pittsburgh. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the war, Charles worked for RCA, Grumman Corp. and FOSECO Company as an electrical engineer before retiring. He, his wife and family are lifelong members of Saint Therese de Lieux Roman Catholic Church of Uniontown. Left to cherish Charles' memory are his dedicated, loving wife, Julia Rich Ortmann; eight children; 12 grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; a great-great- grandchild; and a sister-in-law, June Ortmann of Pittsburgh. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA, where the family will receive friends on Monday, March 24, 2014, from 2 until 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, in the funeral home from 8:30 until 9:15 p.m., with a Parting Prayer. A Funeral Mass celebrating Charles' life will be held in Saint Therese de Lieux Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Msgr. Michael Matusak, as celebrant. Full military rites will be accorded by General George C. Marshall, AMVETS Post# 103 of Hopwood, PA. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
