FOLEY JOHN “JACK” JOSEPH AGE 8...

FOLEY JOHN “JACK” JOSEPH Age 89, of Mount Lebanon, PA, passed peacefully into God's arms on Wednesday evening, March 21, 2018. Jack was born on March 18, 1929, to the late Margaret and George Foley, Sr. of Canonsburg. Jack was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Foley of New Orleans, LA and George Foley of College Station, TX. Jack is survived by his loving and deeply adored wife, Frances Hvizdos Foley; his proud and loving children, Mary Frances Foley (Thomas) Whalen of Cranberry Township, John Joseph (Julie) Foley, Jr. of Raleigh, NC, James Edward (Jodi) Foley of San Raphael, CA, Ellen Elizabeth Foley (Raymond) Giarrusso of Mount Lebanon; his sister, Abigail Foley (Robert) Moore of Media; and last but never least- his very much loved grandchildren - Marissa, Anna, Connor, Jack, Sam, Evan, Emily, RJ, Georgia, Maria and Matthew. A graduate of the University of Detroit, Jack served as an officer in the US Navy from 1953-1956. He then went to work at Westinghouse where he met his bride of 59 years. As an architect, Jack was a partner of Foley/Becker Associates which designed several notable buildings including the Mt. Lebanon Recreation Center/Ice Rink, Shuman Detention Center, The Crowne Plaza and Executive Building on Ft. Couch Road. With an Irish twinkle in his eye, Jack loved to charm anyone who crossed his path. He enjoyed many hobbies including, photography, video production, community activism, and parish involvement, but spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved so dearly and touched so deeply was his real passion. He would often reflect and marvel at their individual talents and accomplishments. He was immensely proud of each one of his grandchildren. Later in life, Jack took on the role as caregiver and advocate for his wife, Fran, after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer 's disease in 2007. Totally dedicated and always attentive to her happiness, safety and comfort, Jack relentlessly pursued treatments, cures and comfort measures as he cared for Fran faithfully until his death. Jack will now watch over his “Lady Bird” from Heaven. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends and family are welcome at 2828 Washington Rd., McMurray, 724-941-3211 on Sunday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday 9:30 a.m. in St. Anne Parish. Interment to follow with military honors in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
