WENTROBLE REV. DOCTOR DAVID P. 60, passed away on January 21, 2014, at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, CT, due to burns received in a gas station accident on December 20, 2013, in Danbury, CT. He was born on August 23, 1953, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Paul D. and Dorothy Hachmeister Wentroble, who preceded him in death. David graduated from North Hills High School in Pittsburgh. He received a B.S. in Biology from Pennsylvania State University at University Park, PA, and a master's of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. From 1978 to 2010, David served as a pastor in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, and then as a chaplain in New Jersey, Connecticut, Indiana and New York, before assuming his most recent position as Director of Pastoral Care at Nyack Hospital in Nyack, NY. He also became the Pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church in Haverstraw, NY, in January 2013. David is survived by his life partner of 36 years, Chuck Stewart; sister, Carol Wentroble Colvin (husband Barry); nephew, Brett Colvin (wife Jennifer); great-nephew, John Colvin; cousins, Gretchen Hachmeister (husband Randy Orzano) and Hugh Hachmeister (wife Sandy), Mary Lou Hartos (husband John), Miriam Miller, Robert Light, Janice McCleese (husband Frank) and Dale Wentroble (wife Barbara); and extended family and wonderful friends. A Memorial Service and celebration of David's life will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 1101 Bedford St., Stamford, CT. Burial will be private.
