MERTI EDWARD Age 84, of O'Hara Township, died on Sunday, July 16, 2017. Beloved husband of Betty Merti for nearly 59 years; the father of Valerie Esposito (Steven) and Gregory Merti (Pat); and grandfather of Kristen Esposito, Steven Esposito, Alyssa Merti, and Julia Merti. Ed served his family, community, and Fox Chapel Area School students with a drive, filled with strength, compassion, positive energy, and a will to succeed. Ed achieved success in every area of his busy life. His blessings came from every direction, even in his last six years at Amber Woods in Harmarville where the staff cared for him as if he were a father figure. Friends are welcome to attend a 10:30 a.m. Memorial Mass for Ed, followed by a reception, to be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at St. Joseph Church, 342 Dorseyville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215.
