
BURTON ALBERT G. Albert G. Burton, LCDR U.S. Navy (retired), 89, of Green Tree, formerly of Braddock, on Sunday, January 26, 2014. Beloved husband of Angeline G. Restanio Burton; son of the late Stephan and Anne Ferko Berton; loving father of Christine Burton and Bernadette (Jack) Burton-Ferry; brother of Joseph (Mary Alice) Berton and the late Stephen (late Margaret) Berton; grandfather of Michael and Erin Ferry. Mr. Burton was a graduate of Braddock High, California State Teachers College, and earned his Master's degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University. He was retired from the U.S. Navy with 30 years service, serving during World War II, in the Normandy Invasion and Okinawa, and the Korean Conflict. He was a Blue and Gold Naval Academy Information Officer. He enjoyed coaching baseball and football for Braddock High School and was inducted into the WPIAL Hall of Fame. He traveled overseas to re-visit places that were on his tours of duty. Friends welcome Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, (412-563-2800), 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp.
